Victoria Barberer, MSN, AGNP-C

Victoria Barberer is a Board-Certified Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner with more than 25 years of diverse nursing experience in both adult and pediatric care. She brings a rich clinical background and a deep personal understanding of health challenges to her practice, empowering her patients with compassion, expertise, and support.

Victoria earned her Master of Science in Nursing from St. Joseph’s University, following a 15-year career at Stony Brook University Hospital. During her time there, she worked across multiple departments, including Med/Surg/Telemetry, the Emergency Department, Cardiac Care Unit, Thoracic and Trauma stepdown, Pulmonary Vent Unit, and Bariatric Surgery Unit. As a float stepdown nurse, she developed a comprehensive and adaptable skill set, caring for patients with complex, high-acuity needs.

Victoria is dedicated to the next generation of nurses. She serves as an adjunct nursing instructor for both the BOCES LPN program and St. Joseph’s …University RN undergraduate program, where she shares her clinical expertise and mentors students through a hands-on, patient-centered approach. Her experience in teaching not only strengthens her communication skills but also enhances the way she educates her patients, empowering them with clear, compassionate guidance that supports informed, confident health decisions.

As a Nurse Practitioner working in primary care, Victoria has developed a specialty in obesity medicine and counseling. Her approach emphasizes a collaborative, trust-based relationship with patients, many of whom have achieved significant weight loss and health improvement under her care. Her journey with the struggles and triumphs of weight loss enables her to connect deeply with her patients, offering not just medical guidance but genuine empathy and encouragement.
