Horrible service from the receptionist the dentist himself was nice I only met him once but he needs new staff ASAP

I've read the reviews here and on other sites for Dr. Smiley. They weren't great. But, my wife needed a root canal and was in pain. I told my wife, it seems like its a 50/50 shot on whether he'll do a good job or not. But she was in pain and already had the referral and was willing to risk it. I called to schedule the appointment and spoke to the most nasty receptionist that I think I've ever talked to. I knew right there that was a sign and thanked her for her time and ended the call. I'm glad I didn't make the appointment for her and my wife agreed. Its just not worth taking the risk if its going to make matters worse, especially with you health.

I've had 3 root canals before so I know what to expect. He iced my tooth to make sure he knew which one, even though I had X-ray from my dentist, recommending root canal and tooth was cracked. So after I got down off the ceiling he gave me Novocain shot, HuRT!!! Second shot, worse. I started to cry (yes, cry). And he walks out. So I did same, went back to Dr.Trava who no longer takes my insurance, and had NO problems, no pain, no more root. To top it off they charged my insurance $1,020. And made me pay $63 co pay.

I was sent to Dr Smiley for a root canal on my very back tooth. When i was finally able to make an appointment with him, he was insistent it was not the back tooth , but the one next to it. My dentist said I had a cavity in one tooth and needed a root canal in the one next to it so ii figured I was confused but i asked him to double check just in case. He came back a few minutes later and said he had double checked his email and was right. I later came to find out that my dentist never emailed him and he did the wrong tooth. Now I have used my benefits and have nothing left for the root canal that i need. When I called to the office I was told by the doctor that he felt that tooth needed a root canal, but regardless of that, I was sent to him to have one tooth that was causing me a great deal of pain fixed, and he didn't do it. My dentist has shown me the xrays and I know he did the wrong tooth. I asked them to reverse the billing to my insurance so I could have the correct root canal… done, but they refused and suggested I come back in January. I am currently filing an appeal with my insurance and would not recommend this doctor to anyone.
