Dr. Aaron Gabriel Benson, MD

I recently had a cochlear implant done by Doctor Benson. Once I was a candidate for the procedure, he explained to me exactly what it would entail. He explained that he believed my balance would be much better. Which it is. He also corrected a blood vessel that was causing me to hear my heartbeat through my left ear which was so very annoying that it caused interrupted sleep. I'm so thankful to Dr. Benson. You Rock!

Stellar doctor!

After 3 Tympanoplasty Surgeries, my eardrum still have perforations, my hearing is much worse and I have constant drainage. Don't waste your money. After the last surgery he went AOL and I had to find another doctor to remove the packing.

I have suffered with vertigo for about three years to the point that it became severe and physical therapy was no help. I was referred to Dr Benson shortly after we came to Cedar Rapids. He took the time to talk to me about what was going on and a procedure that should eliminate my vertigo. He explained to me end up all the side effects and what all the surgery would involve. I went ahead and had it done and I have to tell you it has been 2 1/2 years since my surgery and I have not once had an episode. Dr Benson is truly my hero.

Dr benson has left Iowa. I followed him to his new practice. Finding an outstanding ear doctor is worth it!!

I have had ear problems all my life. Iv been to another ENT in cedar rapids and he blew my problems off. Fast forward a year I Finaly decided to look for someone else. My primary care scheduled an appointment for Benson. The second he looked in my ear he knew what i had going on. He scheduled a CT to confirm. He explained that i had Cholesteatoma in my left ear. He explained that it was extreamly likely i would completely lose hearing in this ear as it grew around my hearing bones and damaged them beyond salvage. During surgery it was discovered it was as bad as he had thought. He manged to get a prosthetic hearing bones in place and today i have better hearing then i have in many years. He is an extreamly skilled surgeon. He is no nonsense and will tell you exactly how it is and lays your options out and dosnt sugar coat thing witch is refreshing.

I had a left ear operation years ago. I have been seen by multiple ent doctors throughout the state. Dr Benson was the only doctor that explained what was going on with my ear. He also resolved my problem. He is the only doctor in Iowa I would ever recommend for an ear issue

He is a very intelligent doctor. So often physicians try to be your buddy during an examination. I don't want that. I want someone to be open and honest and direct. The purpose of a physician is to explain your condition and options. Dr. Benson is exceptional at this. I highly recommend him
