If you arrive at the ER and he is your doctor, go to a different ER. He is nice enough, but cannot read x-rays. I can read x-rays somewhat and I could clearly see that there was a specific problem. He contradicted my specialist's diagnosis, and my knowledge of x-rays, and said there was no problem. He even tried to say that my specialist was wrong about me even having the problem in the first place. He tried to say, with no evidence, that I probably had another problem. He then suggested I start medication to rule out the problem he said he thought I had, even though the true problem was staring him in the face on my x-rays. When I got the radiologist's report from the x-rays, a couple days later, the radiologist's diagnosis agreed with me. The problems I saw were indeed right there on the x-ray, according to the radiologist (radiologists are the authority on x-rays). This doctor insisted several times during my ER visit that my x-rays were negative. I obviously could not be told… whether or not the problem had worsened, along with my pain, since this doctor could not even see the very clear baseline problem on the prior x-rays. I went home with the same agony with which I had arrived, and could not believe that a doctor could not see something so clear. The radiologist did not state that my problems were slight, so I really do not understand how this ER doctor missed them!
