Dr. Aaron Harvey Gootman, MD

Dr.Footman was a good guy! I'm, devastated by what has occured .Seems like most of those allegations,were false. These Folks banned together, an,had a decent Physician ousted. Just Wrong!

I was a patient of Dr. Gootman's for about 18 months until my husband's job related. I never had any trouble scheduling or rescheduling an appointment and the P.A.'s always took time with me. The girls are young in the office and they see so many people during the day, it is hard for them because they are so busy. It is their job to get you in, be seen and get you out. They do not have the time to sit and chat. Dr. Gootman is a good doctor and well worth the wait. The two clinics I have been with both had long waits, but look at the people they help. Good job guys.

I have tried both the Lumberton and the Fayetteville clinics and they are both awful. If you wont consent to their procedures, they will refuse to treat you. They scheduled me for one procedure without my permission and if I had gone through with it without researching it, I could have gotten very ill because it contained a medication in it that I was highly allergic to and I had told them about that when I first met with them so it was in my chart! They also got snide with me on my last visit and told me that without doing procedures I would not get cured. Last time I checked, there is no cure for degenerative arthritis or fibromyalgia. The only thing that could possibly make me possibly slightly better is a double knee replacement, a hip replacement and some surgery on my lower spine. Certainly not the epidural shots they wanted to give me which would have done nothing but given me a very bad allergic reaction or worse considering all the bad batches out there now. I have… already had meningitis once, I doubt I could have lived through another bout. I wont be going back.

This is the worst doctor every. I you want to use and a abuse drugs then go here cause they just give you medication without trying to solve the problem. Dr. Gootman is very rude and very unprofessional

This is the "MOST" unprofessional doctor and staff that I have ever ever ever been in contact with - NEVER NEVER associate with him or his staff. He is certainly a big time "DRUG PUSHER".The wait time on this review would not allow you but a choice of 1 hour and that is totally incorrect because everytime the wait was always 4 hours or longer. There Will Not be a next time for me. He and his staff were jokes....

I went to this office to check into a Spinal Cord Stimulator. When I was called I specifically told the office manager to please write this on my records. I was not coming for any other reason and didn't want to waste time with other treatment, such as physical therapy or changing medications. I have Post Polio Syndrome and have had it for 14 years. Needless to say nothing was done by this person. When I arrived with papers all filled out and ready to go the first question was what drugs do you take? I am on several so I keep a card in my pocket to take less time. The nurse took it, typed a little and then I went to sit in the room. I sat there for over an hour and finally a dr? came in. He asked the same question. I gave him the same card. When he threw it across his desk my eyes were opened. So, I asked if he knew why I was there. He answered, "Aren't you here about your meds? I said, "NO!" I am only here to investigate if a spinal cord stimulator would help someone in my condition.… He told me he didn't know as he was not the dr who I needed to see. By this time I had been there for 2 hours. He leaves and tells me he will call me when he talks with the dr. Well, I sit another hour waiting for checkout! 3 hours I was there and in leaving I was in so much pain I almost was unable to drive myself home. I beg everyone - DON"T GO THERE!!!! Needless to say I never got a call about the stimulator or any recommendation from the actual dr who did the treatment. My regular family dr told me that even if they had had 100 patients who were drug users they should not have treated me that way. This was the absolute worst treatment I have ever had.

This office has to deal with all types of people in different kinds of pain. Every day patients come in complaining about something. I am surprised that the Dr. is able to keep staff at all. I have listen to patient comparing and complaining about there medication, patient's trying to buy my script for pain med's and complaining the whole time about not being given any narcotics. Well this is an office to help you deal with the pain, this is not your local drug dealer. Unfortunately a lot of the patients only come for the pills. So, that slow down the process for patients that want an alternative way of dealing with pain. The staff have good days and bad days just like everyone else. So, next time you want to be critical of the Staff, think about what they put up with every day they go to work. I bet you could not handle it for a week. So, kudos to the staff for dealing with a lot of ungrateful, pill popping' folks that make it had on the good folk. You know the old saying don't… condemn a person until you walk in their shoes. I think this is a good office and runs as smooth as it can with the clients that they see.......... so give them a break. Excellent Dr. and back office staff...........

If I did not like the doctors so much I would NEVER return to that office. The office staff is amongst the rudest I have ever encountered. They mix up appointment times, lack of compassion and following up with my needs such as a fax between them and my pharmacy. I have not been able to get my 1 prescription in a month even after several calls. And the one call I did make, I was spoke to like a degenerate, dumb person.What a shame that the staff will leave such a bad impression on the doctors themselves.

DR GOOTMAN IS A GOOD DOCTOR BUT WAS UNABLE TO HELP ME WITH MY BACK PAIN

This doctor is great! He's very accurate and professional. However, I am probably going to change doctors because of the office. They give you a number, as if you are in a butcher's shop. Then, they call your number... but wait, that number belongs to someone else. They're so backed up, the number they give you may be used 3 or 4 times. I have never gone there and waited less than 2 1/2 hours. My longest wait was 4. This is ridiculous, especially for people in pain who cannot sit that long... and speaking of sitting, the waiting room is over crowded because of the long waits. Half of the people stand and more line up outside. The office staff is extremely rude. They yelled at one woman for being 15 minutes late and made her pay a late fee, while I had been sitting there for 3 hours. I will not be returning to this doctor, and unless you like spending your entire day waiting, including missing lunch and dinner, I don't recommend him.
