Dr. Aaron Addison Westphal, MD

I went to the free melanoma screening with a splotch on my back that my husband thought suspicious. Dr Sumney was concerned, removed it, and did a rush pathology on it. Sure enough , it was melanoma. Dr Westphal performed my melanoma surgery in office two years ago. I was very apprehensive after getting my diagnosis but he assured me that I had caught it early and had a very good prognosis. I did not need any further treatment after the surgery, but have been checked every 3 months to guard against a reoccurrence. He was very caring and I did not feel a thing. He talked and kept it light through the procedure and made me feel much more optimistic and calm. I am very grateful that he was the one performing the surgery. He is very compassionate. I have not had any other issues since and have recently graduated to 6 month checks. I am grateful for the free screening and the professional care from both Dr Sumney and Dr Westphal.

We need more doctors like him, comfortable with himself, sense of humor, totally understanding for what its like to be 85 and exhausted- when he did what he did for my father-in-law. Impressive indeed and very much appreciated!
