I have requested my PCP to refer me to a different provider. The provider and I aren't on the same page!He doesn't listen to my concerns and has a poor answer to my concerns

This comment is based solely on what I experienced as a former patient. Initially, I had no issues however, as soon as I began to have serious health concerns I became in tune to what the meaning of healthcare meant. The moment I could no longer tolerate a variety of Type 2 meds due from my allergies the Doctor became more disengaged with my care. I would call and send emails and would wait for DAYS for a response that I had to initiate (red flag #1) My appt was postponed due to the Doctor changing it meanwhile I was without medication for 3 weeks. (2nd red flag) I suffered swelling on the left side of my entire body and he didn’t raise an eyebrow. Later, I was prescribed medication that a manufacturer is in a class action lawsuit because of massive doses cancer causing agents, a concern that any patient would have and although that was no fault of the Doctor but it was that point where the Doctor told me to seek a second opinion, that was the FINAL STRAW for me not to mention his… staff violated HIPPA Law by sending me another patients medical records. It’s a patients responsibility to do their homework and choose a Doctor who cares. Sentara’s Doctors AREN’T what they use to be, choose wisely, pick a Doctor that takes pride in their OATH!

Refused to make an appointment for me because I did not have a primary care doctor. My insurance does not require a referral through a primary care physician. Office still would not give me an appointment. They advertise that they are accepting new patients. That's not true.
