Abbey Sue Merryman, MD, MBA

Dr. Abbey Merryman joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in January 2025 as the Vice Chair of Clinical Operations and Associate Chief Medical Officer for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She received her medical degree from University of Iowa in 2010 and completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in 2014. She is dual board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and clinical informatics. She received an MBA from the University of Iowa in 2023. She comes to the Medical College of Wisconsin from the University of Iowa, where she was on faculty and practiced full-scope inpatient and outpatient obstetrics and gynecology. She also held multiple other administrative roles, including assistant chief medical information officer, medical director for a quality-directed payment plan, and interim division director for general obstetrics and gynecology. Nationally, she has been elected to Epic's OB and Gynecology steering …boards. She continues to have a busy outpatient clinic with a mix of obstetrics and gynecology, operates for benign gynecologic conditions, and staff labor and delivery. In her spare time, she enjoys international travel, spending time with her six nieces and nephews, following Iowa State athletics, and staying active with her two golden retrievers.I'm honored to partner with patients in their healthcare journey - from adolescence to post-menopause. My hope is that patients feel safe and supported in their relationship with me.
