Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:Throughout my life, I have been drawn towards helping people. As a five year old girl, I loved the feeling of assisting my grandmother as she would let me give her eye drops for her glaucoma. Perhaps my passion for caring for others and their health was sparked at this age but it continued to grow along with me. In college my aspirations to pursue a career as a Physician Assistant were confirmed by my fascination with learning about human biology and by spending time in a developing country on a community health-based workshop. The need for access to health care at home and abroad was evident. I feel fortunate to be a Physician Assistant and it fills my heart with joy to see lives improved by health care.What I want my patients to know about me:I really want patients to feel comfortable and secure with their health care, from diagnosis to treatment and recovery. Health problems can be overwhelming. I feel that patient education and setting …patients' expectations appropriately can help an overwhelming problem or diagnosis be more manageable with less anxiety.What I do when I'm not seeing patients:When I am not seeing patients, you may find me spending time with my beautiful family. I enjoy exercising, dancing, and practicing yoga. Traveling has given me such wonderful experiences and memories… doing more traveling is on my to-do list!
