Dr. Abby Wellman, MD

Dr wellman is a true phony and unprofessional. Now happily running a HUGE telephone practice. If you don’t answer within minutes she is on to next victim. Don’t fall for fake concern. She’s as bad as they say in reviews. I’m a three year client who put up with patronizing attitude for too long. DONT TRUST THE FRESHLY APPEARING US HEALTH AND NEWS REPORT. I’d say she hates the patients by her actions and words with me . And wants the money .

Dr Wellman is good for something very basic like ADD medication, but if I had an issue was depression I definitely wouldn't go to her because she's cold. For what I've seen she seems knowledgeable incompetent but she is cold and curt.

I have been seeing Dr. Wellman for about 15 years. Due to her expertise in medication management for depression I have been stable and had no clinical episodes since I've been seeing her. She doesn't offer therapy but will refer you to a qualified therapist if that's what you're looking for. Dr. Wellman is personable and professional, explains any questions I have, and I always feel like she genuinely enjoys talking with me. I have never experienced with her the kind of doctor that some other reviewers have described. I would agree with another reviewer that she is a probably a better fit with someone that has been treated with medication for depression previously than someone new to treatment. As a therapist myself I highly recommend Dr. Wellman.

I have been a patient of Dr. Wellman for 20 years. She is easy to talk to and attentive to all my needs and concerns. Making an appointment could not be easier. As a health care professional, I highly recommend Dr. Wellman without any hesitation.

Absolutely the most horrendous, disorganized, unprofessional, unqualified medical professional I ever ever encountered. Learn from my mistake and do not ever even consider Abby as your doctor.

This is by far the worst Dr. I have ever seen!!! Don't waste your time and see someone worth seeing!!

She will write a prescription for what ever you want. She overmedicates.

I went there to get help with my depression/anxiety! She was horrible, I wish I had read the reviews before I went to her. She is anything but compassionate and understanding. She doesnt seem to care - very rude & nasty even when I am in the most fragile state. I need a better place , that will listen to me & be more helpful.

Stay away from this lady! I went to her for my severe anxiety and depression and she made me feel like I was too much work for her. I went to her needing help to get on medication that would help me. I told her personal things then told me she just cant help me. Can you imagine being so hopeless, going to a doctor for help and they turn you down and make you feel like dirt. I left feeling worse than before I went in. Shes a witch. Mind you, her office looks like it should be on an episode of hoarders! She belittled me. I walked out crying. This woman is a nightmare and I will be reporting her. I cannot express enough to steer clear of her.

I had seen Dr Wellman years ago and recently chose to go back to her. She explained the process she follows in great detail and was very thorough, which I appreciated. She is probably better suited for someone who is not new. Seeing a psychiatrist for medication management in the beginning can be very overwhelming and confusing for almost everybody. I have a fairly high level of medication and medicine so I understood everything she talked about. Someone new could be easily overwhelmed by all the information. She immediately inquired as to whether I needed a referral to a therapist, which is appropriate since she is strictly medication management and focuses on the patient's prescribed medication and their response to it. For emotional support issues, it's not realistic to expect a psychiatrist to manage those; that's the job of a therapist. The psychiatrist is supposed to ensure that any prescribed medicine is doing more good than harm, since all medication has side effects, some… severe. If you're an experienced mental health patient, she is a good choice. For someone new, other psychiatrists may be a better fit.
