Dr. Anthony Aichouri, MD

First of all Dr. A. has over 1000 patients so if he dosen't remember you right off the bat that's why. I have been seeing him for 15 years. He is not a therapist he does medication management. He takes copious notes of every session. And reviews your last session when you come in. Very discipled and through. I have been seeing a shrink for medication management for 40 years and he is the best I have had. Dr. A. is not only an M.D. he has a Phd. in pharmacology. Feel lucky he sees you.

All of my appointments were extremely rushed and far too brief to give adequate care. For example, one of my appointments with him was literally only three minutes long! On average, he spent only five minutes with me. In addition, he was very cold and almost contemptuous. Because of this, I felt very uncomfortable. However, I did still try to speak up about how a medication was making me feel, for example, and all he did was reply defensively, “that’s not logical.” He did not make any attempt to figure out any possible solutions (i.e., do his job). He seemed to only care about not appearing wrong, even though I wasn’t trying to blame him for the medication! The only reason I gave two stars instead of one is the wait time was short (even though the appointments were usually shorter, ha!). I recommend going to someone who cares, instead.

We took our daughter to see Dr. Aichouri for depression and all he did was prescribe various medications like a game of prescription russian roulette. He approach to treating is to just keep trying different medications until you find the ones that works. My daughter was on 3 different medications and we had to take her to the ER for neck spasms which the ER doctor, after some real research, determined could be a rare interaction between the meds. As soon as we stopped the meds hers tics went away. We tried to call Dr. Aichouri in the evening to ask about how to ween off the meds and we were called the next morning by his staff telling me that this wasn't an emergency and never to call in the evening for something like this. Unbelievable!!! If all your looking for is someone who will prescribe you or your family meds then Dr. Aichouri is your guy but if you want a doctor who will try and determine the root cause of your issues then do not go to him

Kind, Caring and Compassionate. Very thorough in his initial visit and has always been able to explain my diagnosis to me so that I can understand myself better. I have a much better life because he is a good doctor. I highly recommend.

He is a great doctor. He is very accurate.

At first I thought nothing special of Dr. Auchouri, but once I moved and had to find another psychiatrist, I realized how amazing he is! Professional, knowledgable, and above all, respectful. I owe this man my life.

I went to see him for a diagnosis to present to the state for assistance. I let him know I was nearly broke and unemployed. He charged me $500 for 2 brief appointments only to be told by the Dept. of Rehabilitation that they would have covered the bill - AND that they had worked with that Dr. A before - he's in the same building as DOR - so he knew he could have referred me to them for payment. When I applied for disability he refused to fill out the paperwork unless I gave him another $250. Social Security called him and forced him to fill out the paperwork without charging a fee. He called me and told me he would fill out the paperwork but refused to see me again for treatment. Not happy with his diagnostic skills or attitude. Terrible doctor!
