After a fusion and a laminectomy of the cervical vertebrae, i suffered intense pain and frustrating rehab and now I am also dealing with a severed phrenic nerve during one of the 2 surgeries which paralyzed my right diaphragm which now is requiring plication surgery.in my right lung..not at all happy with results of my experience with dr baker

I had back surgery 16 months ago, I was very fortunate to have Dr Baker as my surgeon. He was very thorough explaining what needed to be done and what my options were. I believe we are very fortunate to have Dr. Baker in the Fargo area

It has been 6 months since my surgery to fuse part of my back. I am extremely satisfied with Dr. Baker and the outcome. He is a highly educated, trained to the max, and extremely competent neurosurgeon. If your looking for a competent neurosurgeon he’s for you, if your looking for some one to hold your hand and sing campfire song while telling you everything is rosy, go somewhere else. Some complain he does not spend enough time with them for evaluation. You must remember the hospital sets how must time he has to spend with you and schedules the appoint times. They want to push as many people through as possible

Doc Baker took his time to talk to me in a manner that helped take the stress off. He explained the process and ensured I was comfortable with my decision to move forward with the procedure. He knew I had been in a rear end accident and that age played a roll in my need for surgery. We agreed to concentrate more on how to treat the degeneration and bulge of the disc. He ensured me that from what he could see on the MRI it was within his capability to relieve the pain and burning in my neck, shoulder and arm and after the procedure and therapy I have had significant improvement. Most important to me is that on surgery days he was all business and small talk was off the table while during office visits we were able to be a little more informal. As a retired Naval Officer, I fully understand that when it is time to perform, it is critical to focus on the task at hand and Doc Baker did just that! Thank you.

Have seen Dr. Baker years ago for possible peripheral nerve graft after a complication with knee replacement drop foot and recently for complex neck issues after a 1999 posterior fusion after accident in 1991 . The recent surgery he performed has been so helpful I am very grateful to have found this impeccable surgeon! JoD

Dr. Baker is a professional that takes pride in everything he does! He is passionate about his career, helping others and strives for excellence! He has empathy and compassion for his patients, which I found especially comforting, supportive and motivating, having multifaceted physical and mental heath conditions! He has performed multiple surgeries on me and my quality of life has improved so much!

Dr Baker is superior in patient care but even better in surgery. He told us what to expect and what he would be doing in surgery. Surgery has been a complete success.
