Dr. Abdussalam Cheema, MD

This was the most unprofessional experience I’ve had with a pediatrician. I called to request that something be amended in my daughter chart, and Dr. Cheema told me he “can’t go back in the notes.” As someone who works in a doctor’s office, I know this can be done. When I explained that, he snapped, “Since you know everything, find a new practice.” I said I would, and he responded with, “OK, we’ll deactivate your account.” That alone was rude and uncalled for—but what shocked me most is that he told me they don’t document a parent’s personal concerns unless they believe it to be the “truth.” That’s outrageous. Ignoring a parent’s input because it’s “personal” or might not be “true” is a dangerous mindset in healthcare. I’m taking my child to a new practice—one that values communication, professionalism, and above all, patient safety.

Great with kids, makes them at ease. Explains everything in detail, very professional

Me and my husband brought our 5 month old daughter to Dr. Cheema. He was very friendly, professional, listened to our concern which was our baby teething and he explained to us what we needed to do. He also asked follow up questions. He loves children sincerely , he always has the same calm and attentive attitude and the place is always clean and kid friendly. The receptionists are also awesome. Me & my husband would recommend him to everyone.

Our first Visit experience. SPENT A LOT of time with us!!! We had our first visit with him the other day and liked him. It started with us walking into an office, immediately greeted by one nice, smiling and pleasant individual at the front desk. We waited in empty waiting room (which was really nice). And were attended within minutes. After nurse took measurements etc, Dr. Cheema spent about 45 min with our initial visit and told us to ask lots of questions. We had a concern today and called office. He called back soon and was very helpful. He is our Pediatrician now !

Just moved to Annandale and visted Dr. Cheema. I am impressed with his devotion, the time he spends with his patients listening and addressing their concerns. I was able to get a same day appointment with no waiting time. The office was clean and the staff is also friendly.
