I am very satisfied with the attention, care and followup from Dr. Donka. He referred me to two other physicians for care needed and they were excellent referrals. The office staff needs more customer service training but that is Dr. Thompson's responsibity. . Dr. Thompson does the hiring.

DR Donka has been my physician for many years now. He is extremely thorough and is a good communicator. He has been involved with my care while a patient at L&M Hospital in New London. I highly recommend DR Abel Donka.

If I could give this doctor one star I would. He is uncaring, more concerned with his computer than his patients. He is unwilling to listen to his patients concerns, which makes it seem like he is only there for the paycheck and not the care of the people he is treating. DO NOT GO TO HIM!

Dr. Donka seems to be more interested in using his computer than caring for his patients. He has never followed up with me after a visit or even remembered why he scheduled a follow up visit for a particular issue. After seeing Dr. Donka for over 3 years for the same issue, he was reluctant to send me to a pulmonary doctor until I insisted. It turned out I have a serious bacterial infection in my lungs. His entire staff is also below standard with absolutely no people skills at all. They never greet you, smile, and act as if they are doing the patient a favor. Sick people should not have to be treated that way. The entire office atmosphere is in sharp contrast to other doctors offices that I need to go to.

I was transferred to a rehab facility after undergoing double hip replacement surgery. Upon my arrival Dr. Donka stopped the course of treatment prescribed by my surgeon because he, Dr. Donka, had never seen it done that way. He refused my request to contact the surgeon and walked out of the room. The next day my surgeons prescribed course of treatment was resumed with out any explanation. Dr. Donka was rude and uncaring and more concerned about getting to the next patient in the profit mill.

Dr. Donka has done a very good job with my care over the past 3 years. However the office staff at the Niantic location is sub par and very unprofessional. I've never seen such a snotty, short fused group of back office workers! The doctors should replace all of them or send them to customer service training. Sick patients should not have to deal with these people
