Dr. Abel Arturo Gonzalez, MD

I just returned from Dr. Gonzalez's office after not being seen. I was there for a follow-up appointment that was scheduled one month ago for 2:15 today. At 11:15 am today, I even received a text reminder about this appointment. I checked in with a very tall, over make-uped receptionist who, while not particularly rude upon meeting me, wasn't particularly receptive either. She asked if all of my info was the same, and it was, and then looked away from me. I asked if I should sit down to which she answered with a nod. I noticed that several folks in the waiting room were annoyed with the administrative staff and at first, I thought they were being overly sensitive. That is, until after 50 minutes of waiting, I got to deal with above noted receptionist and Dr. Gonzalez, himself. I asked if she had any sense of when I might be seen and she glibly responded by telling me that there was another patient ahead of me and then, and only then, would I be seen. She could not give me an… approximate wait time. That is when Dr. Gonzalez came out of his office (with his last patient standing right there to bear witness to this) and chimed in. He said he was sorry for the wait and that I could reschedule but there is absolutely nothing they can do. I noted that perhaps a phone call to patients when they were running this far behind would be appropriate and he said: "That'll never happen." Why not? They made sure to text me a reminder of this appointment. Why couldn't a text saying they are running late couldn't happen? Like most, I have a life and it is really tightly scheduled, which in this case, is picking up my 10th month old daughter from day care. The receptionist asked me if I could come back after I pick her up. Firstly, who brings an infant to a shrink's office and secondly, who is she to even suggest that I, again, have nothing better to do once I pick up my daughter. I was then told by this receptionist that I should come to the other side of the glass window whereupon she told me I was condescending and that even if I made another appointment, there is absolutely no guarantee that I won't wait. This is an example of an office that is dealing with "wellness" and "mental health." Their behavior is antithetical to the needs of their patients and for that, they should absolutely be ashamed of the services that they claim to offer and work on creating an environment of calm, ease, efficiency and decency. I recommend you look for another provider because this one is so overbooked that you are just another paper file that will be placed on top of another paper file. It's a sad day for the wellness movement.

Dr.Gonzales he seems to not be listening to me,he scribbles scripts, while spewing non information as to what he SHOULD be talking about,over prescribes too,then doesn't pay ATTENTION,when I complained of side affects ,does not remember your case,seems oblivious to me or my concerns,TELLS you, you need new meds,which,he prescribestoo many pills,I had enough,and I would never let him prescribe new drugs to me,alwaysat least an hr late,then rushes you out,the staff are very very rude,highly unprofessional,no manners or respect to patient, actually Nasty,they were the reason dr Gonzales .as they put it "closed my case" I'm a person NOT A CASE, girls were always rude and then,rudemy daughter, who called on my behalf as they had me crying,girl actually told my daughter ,She has MENTAL (highly unethical)issues ,were not discussing this with you or her anymore,were not seeing her again,that's it this is outrageous, dr Abel has been my dr "15 yrs",(14 too many,)prior to these… receptionists, dr Abel never had a problem with me, he NEVER PERSONALLY spoke to me,or sent me a letter,nothing, (highly unethical)just let's these rude girls,dismiss and lose patients for him.in the 15 yrs I've gone there hes hired new ppl dozens of times ,these girls never last long,dont know why but past 3 yrs all girls were verbally abusive and dismissive. I DO NOT recommend him to anyone,I am reporting him to the medical board,how dare he just DISPOSE of you ,listening to his help and not patient,unfair and unjust,that they can talk nasty to patients,I am sure I am not alone ,I have read numerous complaints on several different review pages on him.i am very upset that he wouldn't even have the decency to speak to me or send me a letter,saying he didnt want me as his PATIENT,after 15 yrs,I'll thank God,now,perhaps I'll be better off with a GOID,DECENT DR,I naively stayed with HIM ,thinking he was treating ME responsibll,now I see he was not as I read complaints of other ppl stating same thing

Gonzalez is rude and insensitive and refused to explain the medications he was prescribing for me. His office staff (1) person is incompetent and beyond stupid. Do not see this so called "Dr." - his medical license should be revoked.

Dr. Gonzalez is terrible and he overbooks appointments to see 5-6 patients an hour. There is a waiting room filled with patients when he comes in each morning and I've been there for early afternoon appointments when he goes to lunch and leaves patients waiting. I've seen him for 5 years now, because it is a hassle to change and I prefer routines, but I have had enough. In the past 5 years, I have never gotten in to see the doctor without waiting at least 45 minutes past my scheduled appointment time. It doesn't matter what time of day either. The actual appointments are ridiculous and after 5 years he still doesn't remember me or what we talked about in my previous session. I see the man every other month and have for 5 years yet he asks me the same questions every time and makes me describe my symptoms. He often has drug reps in there and randomly tries to get me to change medicines based on whatever they gave him. He'll offer samples and coupons if I agree to switch which I never… do. STAY AWAY!!!

I have been going to Dr Gonzalez since 1998. Great doctor, great bedside manner. His staff is wonderful.

Office staff needs a course in customer service. Without patients, you have no job and therefore no income. Think about that next time you are condescending to your clients. Terrible office, terrible wait times. I'll take my business elsewhere.

It is ironic that patients are there with mental disorders or anxiety and the Staff is nasty and confrontational; just what a person with mental and/or emotional problems needs. Shame on you Office Staff.

I was a patient of Dr Gonzalez for over a year, until I lost my job and insurance. He did offer visits at a discounted price, however, being a single mother of 3, it was still unaffordable for me. I have recommended him to family and friends of mine, and always will. The only complaint I have is the wait time. But beings that he sits down and talks with his patients for as needed, I understand why the wait time can often take a while.

This man is a joke. Complete and utter clown. I waited over 60 minutes in the waiting room. Really, dude? You're quite the professional when you make your patients wait over an hour of their day for your holy self. What a joke. His staff was not apologetic about the situation at all either. The explanation that I got was "sometimes we run a little late." Yeah, I agree. 60 minutes is just a LITTLE late, isn't it? That's the problem with these doctors - you give them a fancy title and a nice office and they will control your life by the balls. Making any lowly idiot take time out of their busy day to wait for them. God forbid someone less fortunate than I had to go through this same experience, and took off time of work or school to do so. 'His holiness' Gonzalez is a god among men, and deserves to be referred to as such. Do not waste your time with this office or doctor. Just another egotistical idiot trying to hold you up by the ankles and shake every last penny out of you… at his convenience. Completely unpunctual. Completely unprofessional. Completely unacceptable. Dr. Gonzalez - you are a joke
