Dr. Abraham Philip Mathews, MD

The moment Dr. Mathews spoke I knew he was a “patients doctor”. The first words he spoke were.....”as I was reading over your chart last night”......I was dumbfounded! A doctor that actually read his patient’s chart! And to do it the night before my visit!.......he was telling me facts in my chart, not asking me why I was there, or what my symptoms were, he was actually telling me about my medical history and why he felt my GP doctor had referred me to him!..... well let me just say.......he had me at “hello”. A wonderful doctor and a very sensitive, humorous, knowledgeable human being.

Nurse Katie is like a breath of fresh air. She has made me believe that nurses do truly care for their patients. Katie is kind, considerate, and compationate. She makes my time there so much more pleasant by getting all of us to engage in conversation. I almost look forward to my treatment days now. It would be a lot more tolerable if you would get rid of Nurse Stacey, She is mean, disrespectful, and extremely rude to Katie and some of the other patients. No one likes her, and she makes no bones about the fact that there are some patients she certianlly does not like. I would not recommend this facility to anyone else because of her. If Katie was not there, I would switch to another facility for my treatments.

Dr. Matthews was a wonderful physician. He spoke to me with compassion and spoke with me and to me as if he had known me for years I felt very comfortable speaking with him and he was very personable with me and my family. I had everything explained to me in a manner that I could understand He also spoke to my wife in the same manner even though he knew she was a nurse. He gave me time to process everything and time to understand with the highest patience I have not seen from any doctor in a long time in other words there was no herding in and out as fast as he could. He took interest in me and my family as well. Words cannot not express how wonderful of a physician he is. I wish he practiced closer to where I reside but he is well worth the trip to drive to see. I was 5 hours from my home and have found out he has a clinic 2.5 HOURS away which I would say worth driving to see A person with cancer needs to feel safe and comfortable with their physician. I plan to see him because I and… my wife feel more comfortable and at ease with DR.MAtthews. I would highly recommend him. My family and I also greatly thank him and appreciate him and the care he gave me and for being so kind to my wife and boys. I know personally from the week in the hospital he cared for me that he is not only a good doctor but a good person as well.

Dr. Mathews is a fine Doctor, one of several seen in the cancer clinic. He has a great bedside manner and is caring and compassionate. He is knowledgeable and answers all questions before you leave the room. I would highly recommend Dr. Mathews to anyone in need of an oncology/hemotology specialist.
