Dr. Abul Fateh, MD

Went ER with abdominal pain, which turned out to be a ruptured appendix. Spent night in ER. Dr. Fateh breezed in at approx 1 pm to perform surgery. Staff said that he never appears in the morning. Surgery performed. I appreciate that he was concerned about minimizing the scar. However, that night I was extremely ill, both with pain and retching nausea. I'd previously told him what antiemetic had worked in the past for me. He dismissed me and told me that he had better. Prescribed an oral antiemetic, which was completely ineffective. Dr. Fateh would not respond to nurses' multiple pages. One nurse (who said that this was typical of him) finally called his house and asked him to prescribe an antiemetic suppository. We waited for hours. Finally, one nurse trotted down to the pharmacy where she found that the good Dr had just called in a prescription, but had neglected to give them a dose. Ergo, they couldn't fill it. He would no longer respond to any calls. So, the nurses selected a… dose and administered it. God bless those nurses. I recuperated with family in another town. A few days later, I was in a different (and better) ER with an abscess on the site, requiring days of hospitalization. Dr Fateh? When I called to cancel my post-op appointment and told him why, said "oh." and hung up the phone.
