Dr. Achina Palanki Stein, DO

Dr. Stein is one of the best psychiatrists I have ever met. She is compassionate, kind, and comprehensive. It's the longest evaluation I've ever had and her recommendations are more than medications alone. She looks for the underlying cause of your illness and she treats all of you, not just a part of you. I strongly recommend her. She does not accept insurance but it's totally worth the money to see her especially if you get the run around from other doctors.

I took my father (82 years old) to Dr Stein after trying out a bunch of other treatments. I was pleasantly surprised at the level of details she went into. She checked everything ... all the way from when my father was a young boy till today. She did the right testing of blood, stool and urine and came up with a clear indisputable diagnostics. One of the action items required calling MGH hospital and his PDP to change their decision. She was easily able to convince them. Then, we started implementing the actions ... primarily diet control and OTC supplemental medicines. Prior to our meeting, my father was not able to walk for 10 minutes without stopping. Now, he is able to do so without any issues. Also, his overall sharpness has improved. Dr Stein spent quite a bit of time in each visit and also followed up a lot. She loves to text. So, be ready to communicate over text messages. She also saved us some money to buy the right quality medicines. Overall, very happy. We would continue to… use her help for long time to come.

Dr. Stein is by far the most compassionate, committed psychiatrist I have seen. She truly cares about her patients and wants to help them through holistic medicine. The only drawback is that she is sometimes quick to jump to assumptions (for example diagnosing yeast overgrowth without any concrete evidence) and prescribe supplements and tests that are not (yet) completely backed by solid science. Overall a great, responsive doctor though.

Excellent Doctor. I have been in therapy many years and have never come across a more detailed doctor who truly cares about her patients.She is well informed,very knowledgable,listens well and knows exactly what is happening to you.She explains things very well to patient and give great insights.She does her own therapy so she knows her patients well.I will miss her,but wish her well on her new endeveavors!!
