Dr. Ada Jemison-Bullock, MD

I sought Dr Jemison-Bullock's expertise re treatment of depression. She was understanding and very straightforward. She spent time with me and provided education about my illness. I will be returning to see her.

She just doesn't connect with her patients and is pompous, pretentious and comes off as "better than you" all which makes it difficult to trust or speak honestly with her which makes for a poor relationship foundation, which is vital for a psychiatrist. Especially when they treat adolescents. Just our experience.

Terrible and arrogant

This is the worst dr ever. I took my child to an appt last week after waiting for two hours to be called in she was very rude and she talks to you as if you are stupid. When I commented about waiting two hours she tells me that you have to give a three hour time frame to be able to get seen. I could go on and on about this terrible experience but the point is that she is a terrible doctor and I would not recommend anyone two go see her!

The number and variety of issues I have experienced with this doctor are astounding. Out of 3 appointments, her office called and rescheduled 2 on the day of the appointment with no reason given. The office staff is curt to the point of rudeness. When my third appointment was cancelled, I found out over voicemail that Thursday. I tried calling and leaving message, but I got no return call. Finally, the following Tuesday I spoke to one of the receptionists who informed me that Dr. Jemison's secretary was on vacation for a week (I had not been warned of this), and when I asked for help with meds and rescheduling, the woman said there was nothing she could do. As a result, the medicine I had been using, which had to be taken daily to be effective, ran out because I was using samples. I did not receive a call from the office until the following Tuesday a week and a half later, and by then, the medicine was starting to wear off. What really floored me was that despite promising to contact… my insurance about approving the medicine she wanted me to be on, which was required for this medicine, and having over two weeks to make that call, Dr. Jemison never contact my insurance company to get the Rx approved. I know because I spent 45 minutes on the phone with an insurance rep checking the various departments. Finally, to add to all of this, I found Dr. Jemison's approach and manner to be just plain rude. She would ask unclear questions, but then when I tried to get clarification or if I answered "incorrectly," she would practically yell at me. She acted as though I was being difficult or confrontational when I was trying to understand what she was asking. Not only would I never recommend anyone to this woman, I have made it very clear to everyone I know to avoid her at all costs. I have found a new psychiatrist and intend to continue treatment with him, but I am still astounded at what Dr. Jemison considered acceptable care whenever I think of the whole situation.

My daughter shut down and felt very uncomfortable with her.

Dr. Jemison is really a wonderful Dr. My daughter's experience with her was nothing like what was mentioned previously. I have witnessed her taking extended time to help children desperately in need of her services. I could see the frustration on their parents face, as they waited to be seen by Dr. Jemison. When these children went in some were screaming and kicking at their parents, however when they walking through the waiting area to leave the office they were quieted and content. That was proof enough for me that she possessed the knowlegde and "know-how" to treat children and adolescents effectively. Once my daughter went in to see her, she felt alot better, and received great treatment by her, and her staff members. My daughter will continue to see her!!!!! Keep up the Good Work:-)
