I have been going to Dr Chak for 3 years now. During the last two years her practice has been increasingly difficult to deal with particularly with referrals. In order to get a referral for a specialist as so many insurances require at the time of the visit to the specialist, you must make an appointment and of course obtaining your referral isn't guaranteed. You see even if you let's say don't like your urologist because you feel that he or she isn't responsive to your problems (like mine was) , Ada Chak will refuse to give you one and say that "there are many second opinions, doctor so and so is already treating you." Which means unless you change your primary care doctor you won't be seeing that referral. Also I had an shoulder injury earlier this year and Dr. Chak decided that my insurance doesn't cover MRIs, which is funny because that's not true at all. All that her staff would have to have done is to call my insurance to find out. So since my x-ray for my shoulder showed no… signs of tear ada chak decided that there was no need to refer to me to a specialist despite the fact that I had no chronic pain. Two months later I found a real D.O. and finally got treatment. But thanks to her neglect I now have muscular atrophy in my left shoulder that may take months or even years to heal. So no I DO NOT RECOMMEND Ada Chak.
