Dr. Ada Maria Winkielman, MD

A little over a week ago Dr. Winkielman removed a small but prominent wart from my face (right cheek). I can say that it has now healed to a point where it is difficult for me to even see where it was. I could not be happier about how this turned out.

Very pleasant, intelligent and well informed. Made me feel very comfortable. Listened to and addressed all my concerns. Gave me lots of recommendations regarding skin care and cancer prevention. She came highly recommended by my friend, and I am very happy to have a great dermatologist now!

Dr W takes care of both of my parents. I could not imagine a better doctor. Patient, thorough, conscientious. Very friendly, excellent physician. Highly recommend.

I went in for Chelitis , puffy burning ozzing sores on the lips . I gave a verbal description , She took a quick look , quick diagnoses , I felt rushed the whole time . I wanted to explain how i thought this was related to Candida, but she said she didn't have time , gave me some samples , paid my co-pay and I was out of there . Not a pleasant reasuring experiance. and will not recommend .

Unorganized staff asked for my Costco ID to verify myself. Doctor refused to talk to me, told front desk to reschedule me bc I didn't bring a picture ID. I explained I lost my wallet but have a temp ID. They told me I "should have known better" and brought a grocery store ID. I was never informed of any policies or what I needed to bring. Wasted 2 weeks scheduling and waiting for this appointment only to be kicked out bascally.

I'm extremely upset with this person. Sadly I do not have insurance that she covers, nor do I have insurance most dermatologist cover, so I went to her because she had great reviews and it was worth the almost 200 dollars in my mind. Let me tell you, it wasn't. First of all, I went there for multiple reasons, acne, discoloration around my mouth, and what I assume is hereditary dark circles. I wrote this all down on the paper to see her and she only would talk to me about my acne. She wasn't easy to talk to for sure. She barely looked at my acne,maybe even just a glance.. didn't ask about my diet, didn't ask anything that should typically be asked in regards to ones skin health. Then she completely ignored the stuff around my mouth so she didn't give me anything for that, didn't even comment on it. In a last attempt to get something out of her I continuously mentioned how important my dark circles where and she didn't do anything to really look at them like I've read many other… dermatologists have done, I mentioned procedures and stuff to work with them and she had 0 information about them at all, she told me to use something that would maybe help reduce puffyness but it wasn't much help at all. She gave me some topical cream, which I can't say anything bad of but it's not a miracle cream for sure..and then she changed me to a year supply of birth control. Ignored my other reasons for visiting, of course. THEN here's the best part! She wrote only 2 refills on my birth control yet somehow I've had at least 5-6 now and it hasn't even been a year since I've seen her, far from it. I told this to the pharmacist and she was very confused...she faxed a request for refills to her, I called her office saying I really needed it because you can't just stop birth control and risk pregnancy right? Well I was supposed to get a call back but they thought it'd be okay to just not call me back and tell me they denied me, I found this out myself by contentiously re-calling because I kept getting hung up on. They told me I was denied because she'd have to have another visit with me. Why? So you can get almost 200 bucks for me for me to say "please refill my prescription you didn't give me a year of like you said." I'm beyond outraged, this will probably mess up my period and make it land on the day of my vacation. Thanks doc!
