I cant say enough about the staff at Dr Brufsky's office. Everyone was very caring and attentive. I never waited long . My appointments ran very close to schedule time. Breast cancer patient, going through chemo with Dr. Brufsky's OFFICE at Magee.Example: Had a bad reaction to a chemo drug and landed in the hospital for 8 days. Plenty of specialists and nurse practitioners saw me, but never Dr. Brufsky himself. And he was the ONLY one who was qualified to tell me if we were going to use that horrible drug again or if he was going to alter my care. I spent the whole week worried about it, kept asking for answers, and decided I wasn't going to leave the hospital without knowing. On check-out day, I told the nurses I really really needed to see HIM. He whirled in, spent 60 seconds telling me he was going to try a different drug next time, whirled out. At first, I didn't even know who he was, as I had only seen him once and that was 5 months ago on our first visit!!Example: Each time I go to the office, I get a different nurse practioner (there are many in that office)and some of them do not know my history at all, and don't even seem to have read… my chart before coming in. Had another bad reaction to the new drug, and the n.p. told me that next time, there would most likely be a change in treatment--maybe have the drug every 2 weeks (instead of every week) or something. She said my symptoms were not good, too harsh, and I probably need to take it more slowly. When I went in for the next visit to find out the new course, I had a different n.p. She didn't indicate there had been any discussion of my case and assumed we were going back to the same routine. I asked if I would get in trouble again, she said we would take it as it came. SHE was not concerned about the symptoms the previous n.p. had worried about.Example: In 6 months of treatment, I've only seen the Dr. 3 times: a very good 1st visit, the 60-second visit at the hospital, and a 3 minute visit at the office. That last visit, he shook my hand 3 times, trying to leave without waiting to see if I had more questions. After he left, the n.p. (a new one), my family member, and I had to sort through everything to try and figure out what his intent and answers had been.
