He’s a great physician. He’s one of the best we have. He’s patient and calm with me through physical and mental health issues. As a patient I get so caught up juggling my life and health I forget to thank the people that help me. I appreciate his Nurses, NPs, Practical Nurses and front office for helping me. As a patient I’m sure I’ve behaved like an idiot in many fields of healthcare, especially in Urology. I’m definitely embarrassed later. I do appreciate healthcare workers more than they know. -Bryan

My husband has been seeing Dr. Butera for a few years. You can get through to anyone during crisis. They don't return phone calls period. My husband recently had emergency stents put in both kidneys cause of a seven kidney stone blockage. It took many surgeries to get it out. The stents were removed and medication which was minimal discontinued. The Urologist faxes a letter explaining all his. The Nurse at this office ran my husband's post-op meds through some new software and it took him off his regular psychiatric meds which was really incompetent. The pharmacist where he fills his medications says there's always something with his meds. Other patients with double dosage goes through fine. It's possible the nurse has a chip on her shoulder but that's still Dr. Butera's responsibility.

First appt is a gimmick. After that you won’t see doc or be able to communicate with him. The nurse has a chip on her shoulder and is terrible. I had dozens of urology surgeries at Kell West hospital, double stents in both kidneys, seven kidney stones, every time it was emergency surgery. It took two months to finish surgeries. Texhoma Urology is only prescribing post-op acute meds that are non-narcotic like Toradol to behavioral health patients of Dr. Butera because the nurse and Dr Butera are using an algorithm program. I’m done with surgery and all medication for urology has been discontinued. I have to get the Urologist to call and sign paperwork for Dr. Butera. Just a nightmare. I own a healthcare business(DME) and I dread every time I have to call this place. So forget going here. I’m going to DFW for behavioral healthcare.

Been seeing Dr Butera for about 4 years always had a problem getting mt prescription filled on time some times 5 days late also if I had a problem with a medication it would take 5 or 6 phones calls and 5 to 7 days before I would get a response The final straw for me was having a problem with meds and I couldn't take them but I was told to take them anyway because I wasn't getting any thing else

I have been seeing Dr. Butera for over a year. Things were great at first, but over the last few months things have really gone down hill. Appointment wait times have increased like crazy. I have spend upwards over 45+ mins after my scheduled time to see him if not over a hour. What really sent me to find a new provider was when i was started on a new controlled medicine and have to have a special RX pad for said medicine. No issue or so i thought. I called a few days before I was due a refill and was told that they were out of the RX sheets but should be getting them anyday, since they had ordered them almost 30 days previous. I was on a list with 35+ other people who were in the same boat as me. Ok understand I still had some medicine I was fine. I used my last pill called and still no Pads to write the RX on. Said they still have heard nothing from the State on getting these Pads they ordered and were still waiting. Its been over a MONTH and ive yet to hear from them regarding this… issue. I called a new provider, got a appointment that week, got in got my much needed medicine and have had NO issues with them sending it in DIGITALLY to my pharmacy of choice...Why butera's office couldn't do the digital version I dont know. But this left a bad taste in my mouth even more so on top of the long wait times.

He was very kind and caring, worked with me and my health insurance to get the assistance as well as the treatment I needed. Counselors and other therapists are fabulous as well. Office staff is superior. Would recommend this Doctor's office.

I’ve loved Dr. Butera for as long as I’ve gone to him. He’s a very good and smart Dr. But I’m very hard to medicate and it took me years to get stable. A few weeks ago out of the blue I needed a refill on a med I had been taking for a long time and he cut in half without even talking to me. It’s a very hard med to mess with. His people won’t let me talk to him and I have been having terrible side effects. I almost attacked my daughter and I’ve never touched my kids. Among other side effects. His nurse is extremely rude and demeaning. As was the one before her. Who does that in a psychiatric office?! ??

I have been to counselors , therapists and psychiatrists who have their nurses do the job . Dr butera is compassionate , smart and always treats you with dignity and respect .
