Dr. Edwards received his bachelors degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1977 and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, the academic honors society. He graduated from the Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery in 1981, and then went on to complete four years of post-doctoral residency training in general dentistry and oral surgery with the Veterans Administration Medical Centers in Northport, New York and East Orange, New Jersey. Dr. Edwards is a general dentist who has been in practice in Altamont since 1990.
Dr. Edwards has been active in organized dentistry for many years, and has served on the executive committee of the Third District Dental Society since 2001. He has been the chairman of the Third District's ethics committee since 2002, during which time he has also served on the Ethics Council of the New York State Dental Association. He has been chairman of the Council for the 2009 - 2010 term and continues to be active in the …teaching and promotion of dental ethics and jurisprudence. He is also a member of the American Dental Association and serves on the House of Delegates of the New York State Dental Association.
