I am writing this review because I believe other veterans and their families deserve to know about my experience. My fully disabled Marine nephew, who has a service-connected TBI and PTSD, was under this nurse practitioner's care. Throughout the process, I repeatedly tried to communicate important information about my nephew's condition and safety concerns, but I felt dismissed and ignored. Rather than listening, the nurse practitioner was rude, interrupted conversations, and even hung up on me while I was trying to advocate for my nephew. I was told certain actions would be taken, but they never were. The discharge process was especially alarming. My nephew was released without what I believe was a safe discharge plan. He had no arranged transportation, no identification, no meaningful discussion about medications or follow-up care, and no clear plan for where he was going after leaving the facility. Given his disabilities and vulnerabilities, I believe this placed him at… significant risk. Veterans living with PTSD, TBI, and other serious conditions require careful, compassionate, and professional care. In my experience, this nurse practitioner demonstrated poor communication, failed to follow through on commitments, and showed little concern for patient safety or family input. I hope the VA thoroughly reviews this incident so that other veterans and their families do not have a similar experience. Our nation's veterans deserve healthcare providers who listen, communicate respectfully, and prioritize safe, responsible patient care. Worst experience of my life with anybody working in a hospital and he should be a NP or in ANY medical field or anything to help anyone what so ever.
