Despite seeing multiple specialists and undergoing extensive imaging, I found no answers—until I came across Dr. Adam Hansen. Dr. Hansen is a true expert in slipped rib syndrome, especially involving ribs 8–12 and nerve impingement. His research and lectures gave me confidence, and his team (Cindy, Tina, Robbin) made the process smooth and supportive from the start. His bedside manner is exceptional—empathetic, respectful, and attentive. He diagnosed 12th rib syndrome with L1 nerve involvement and performed a resection. He explained everything clearly and addressed all my concerns. I noticed improvement immediately after surgery. Before, I couldn’t sit for more than five minutes without pain. Ten days later, I could sit comfortably again. Dr. Hansen’s work is… transformative. He’s filling a critical gap in care for patients who often go undiagnosed. I’m deeply grateful to him and his team.

I am convinced that he is an intelligent kind hearted soul. He diagnosed me with slipping rib, eased my mind and calmed any fears. I just wish there were more Doc's like him. I have been to 5 orthos, pain management, chiropractor and while they tried absolutely no one could give me a diagnosis. Every staff person was extremely courteous and concerned. I, sincerely, cannot say enough good things about Dr. Hansen. We traveled 9 hours from NY to see him about my possible Slipping Rib Syndrome. What nobody in NY could diagnose for over 10 months, Dr. Hansen diagnosed within minutes. He performed surgery on me that prevented me from having to remove ribs. Even before meeting him in person, I felt comfortable with him. He and his staff were extremely responsive to all of my many questions/concerns. Dr. Hansen is extremely knowledgeable in his field, but even better, he is a compassionate and decent human being who truly cares for his patients. I have never met a doctor like him and I am so grateful we chose him.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Hansen. I had a condition known as Slipping Rib Syndrome that not a single doctor in my area could even diagnose, never mind help me with. I drove nine hours to see Dr. Hansen. He immediately diagnosed my problem and performed surgery to correct it. He is the only surgeon we had ever, in all of our research, heard of who instead of removing my affected ribs, was willing to wire them back into place. He explained the surgery in complete detail to us and made us feel very comfortable. Dr. Hansen is just a genuinely nice person who cares a lot about his patients and I highly recommend him without hesitation.

Love Dr. Hansen's sense of humor, ease of communicating, open to any concerns, just think he's a wonderful person and doctor.

My experience with Dr. Hansen was excellent! He was kind, caring, very knowledgeable in his field, and made a surgery that seemed complicated and confusing easy to understand to someone who knew nothing about what was going to happen during surgery. He was "spot on" and did not sugar coat anything. I have been fighting cancer for two and a half years now and had no idea what to expect and he made the horrible experience of surgery as comfortable as he could. I would highly recommend Dr. Hansen to anyone in need of a thoracic surgeon.

I met Dr Hansen 2 days prior to my husband's simple procedure. I was amazed at how personable and polite he was to my husband, our kids, and myself. He made sure that we all understood and were comfortable with the procedure. He spoke to us as ordinary people which showed us just how much he cared for his patients and their families. My husbands simple procedure turned into a major surgery but there again was Dr Hansen making sure I was updated continuously so as not to worry!! After the surgery he sat down and explained to me all he had done to save my husband! He put a rush on pathology reports knowing our family was so concerned since my husband and many others in his family had had cancer before. At 10:32am the very next day Dr Hansen called and told me that there was NO CANCER....I cried and thanked him and asked that I be the one to tell my husband and he agreed! From then on Dr Hansen has taken care of my husband and has went above and beyond the call of duty to keep him at ease… and our family! We are blessed to have crossed paths with Dr Hansen and I pray that many more people will come to know and cherish him as me and my family have come to know and cherish him!!!

Dr Hansen is one of the most talented and all around nice doctors that I've ever had the privilege to meet. He made me feel like a person not just a patient!! He was polite to my wife and our family and made sure that we all understood and felt comfortable with the procedure he was performing on me. Little did we know the simple procedure would turn into a major surgery in which Dr Hansen saved my life. I told him going in if he wouldn't give up on me I wouldn't give up on him! Thank God we both kept our word! He stuck by my side til the day I was released and has continued to show me what a great man and doctor he remains to this day!
