Doctor Hogan began his professional studies at The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. There he attended both undergraduate university and dental college. At the school of dentistry, he served student council and the community while concurrently receiving clinical accolades and awards. He earned the Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree (DDS) in May 2003. In July of that year, he served in the U.S. Navy for the next 3 years as a dentist. Lieutenant Hogan completed a hospital residency at Portsmouth Naval Hospital. His experience was focused in oral surgery to include dental implantology. In 2005 and 2006, he served as the only dentist aboard the USS Ashland where he provided quality and comprehensive dental care to sailors, Marines, and foreign military. Concurrent with his military service and when not …deployed, Dr. Hogan honed skills in civilian dental care while practicing general dentistry in Chesapeake for 2 years. Dr. Hogan left military service and partnered with Dr. Baxter in June 2006. Adding to his professional education, Dr. Hogan completed a 1-year postgraduate program in dental implantology sponsored by the American Association of Implant Dentistry.
Dr. Hogan credits his success to his experience with the spirit and discipline of the Marine Corps. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of General Dentistry, the American Association of Implant Dentistry, the Virginia Dental Association, the Tidewater dental association. He is an officer and active participant in the Virginia Beach Dental Study Club, the CEREC study club, and the Seaboard Study Club. Dr. Hogan is a volunteer with the American Red Cross, Norfolk dental clinic. He lives in Chesapeake with his wife, Kathy, and three children.
