Dr. Adam Scott Kanter, MD

Excellent experience with Dr. Kanter and team. He thoroughly explained my treatment options and demonstrated clear expertise and experience in a manner where I felt very well informed going into surgery. PA Gina provided thoughtful coordination and collaboration with my pain specialist in order to develop the best treatment plan for my condition and educate me on managing similar issues moving forward.

The whole experience with Dr. Kanter and his entire office staff was excellent. I was easily able to get an appointment and both Gabriella and Mary were extremely compassionate and professional. Dr. Kanter spent a long time explaining a very complex issue with my spine and we were able to fully discuss all my options for treatment. I couldn’t be more satisfied with my experience with Dr.Kanter and his staff.

Dr. Kanter, Operated on my back in Pittsburgh, PA. I can say without question the best move I have ever made. The outcome from my operation was amazing. I have been free to go about all my activities without any pain whatsoever. The gym six days a week, gardening in the summer, just lifting in general. So, if you are having back problems, I can say you're in great hands with Dr. Kanter. There is no better feeling in the world than having your life back to normal. Free of back pain! In 2008, Dr Kanter kept me from being dead or in a wheelchair

I have suffered with back pain which resulted leg pain and numbness for over a year. My MRI showed severe deterioration of my L4-L5 resulting in the need for fusion surgery. I consulted with 4 different surgeons ( 1 which wouldn’t take my case, 2 which wanted to do very invasive surgery with rods and screws) and Dr. Kanter. From the very beginning he was confident his minimally invasive lateral fusion would give me relief. He was so right! From my pre-op visit thru all post-op visits I have been so well cared for. I was in a lot of pain in the recovery room and Dr. Kanter was right there at my side making sure I received the best treatment possible. He assured me what I was feeling was perfectly normal but instructed the nurse to make sure I received her undevided attention until my pain subsided. I have never even seen my surgeon in recovery let alone have him beside me making sure I was cared for. I WALKED out of the hospital 24 hours later and have had such an amazing recovery. Yes… I had pain but that was to be expected for the first few weeks. I am 6 months post-op and am so happy I had Dr. Kanter and his staff care for me. Every follow-up appointment has been met with positivity and every question is always answered. I have never felt rushed or dismissed. Dr. Kanter looks me straight in the eye, explains everything and always makes me feel like he truly cares about my recovery. His PA’s are great as well. They take their time, go over xrays and make sure i have all my questions answered. I have had a few different surgeries but this one was by far the best experience.

I can't recommend Dr. Kanter to anyone. I had degenerated disks in my back. Dr. Kanter performed a laminectomy. We discussed doing a spinal fusion and he said he would not do it now. I was still in pain after the surgery. Sixteen months later the pain was so intense, I went to another surgeon who said that he could not see any difference in the before and after MRIs. In fact he said he could not see that Kanter did anything. He also said it was one of the worst disks he had seen on the first MRI. Very unhappy that I had to go in for surgery that soon. Kanter is very arrogant and not patient friendly. I have considered filing a malpractice suit against him. I did have the other surgeon perform the fusion and I am a new person now.

Can’t say enough about the doc and his staff. Simply the best!

I had surgery with Dr. Kanter over a year ago. There were complications, I saw him for 5 minutes in the hospital and only once after the surgery. Mostly I saw the PAs, and it was a different PA every time. Dr. Kanter was dismissive of my concerns, and did not offer any help. He basically said there is nothing I can do, and sent me away.

I am a life long fan of Dr. Kanter and his staff. I first met his PA and she was fantastic and she recommended all the tests for me to get before meeting with Dr. Kanter. By the time we met, he had already reviewed my MRI and Xrays and had a plan. I had surgery schedule 3 weeks later. That was over a year ago now. His nurse removed my staples and they ordered me PT and it has been a glorious road to a healthier more fruitful life ever since. Dr. Kanter saw me recently and gave me a hug and told me he was proud of me and that WE DID IT TOGETHER. Thank you Dr. Kanter. Thank you for being a shining star in my life.
