Dr. Adam Villalba, MD

Arrogant; dismissive of patient’s questions; talks down to you, making you feel bad for asking; gives his personal opinions (unsolicited) about the media and non-scientific opinions about certain drugs (this review prompt won’t let me use the name of it), saying, “It doesn’t do anything” (like ever, as a blanket statement), “But I have to prescribe it anyway. If it were me, I wouldn’t take it.” We did not ask for this medication, but we know many people it has helped and were glad he was prescribing it. We know it is dependent upon the person, and its efficacy is on a case-by-case basis; but his opinions, and the way he delivered them, were dismissive, and, quite frankly, not appropriate. We were very surprised and disappointed because we have always had such good, friendly, kind and patient care at this facility. Our nurse was amazing, and she said she was getting the first dose of the medication to give our son before we left the hospital (because she thought that is what the doctor… was going to do), but then she came back and told us the doctor said, “No, it’s too late at night (it was only 10:45 pm), so just have him pick it up at his pharmacy tomorrow.” The whole purpose of this drug is to take it as soon as possible after symptoms begin, so that felt like a lazy decision. I don’t write reviews like this, and I don’t like doing this one; but it needs to be said. Heard him speaking to other ER patients the same way. He has a terrible bedside manner.

He took care of my pelvic pain like a true pro!!! I LOOOVVEEE HIM AND AM GOING TO COME SEE HIM ON A NIGHTLY BASIS!!!!!

He was very rude and acted very angry. Not a nice person. If he would have explained a few things to me this all could be averted. I don’t know what is going on in his life but he will take it out on a patient. No one explained certain things to me that clearly he thought they had. I have never been talked down to like a 12 yr old who just committed the worst thing he has ever done. Mean, ugly attitude and nasty.
