Dr. Adebisi Idowu Obafemi, MD

If I could give a 0 star, I would. My father is a patient of Dr. Obafemi, and the lack of responsiveness from him and his staff is detestable. For more than three months, various members of my family have contacted his office, and we keep getting the run-around. My sister called and the staff told her a staff member named Rita would contact her back. This never happened. My extremely ill father called and left several messages for Dr. Obafemi, and no one ever contacted him to the point that he is now hospitalized. Then today, after months of calling, we were told the doctor could not request a rehab facility for him, only an in-home therapist. Had we been told this THREE months ago, we could have facilitate things differently and located a primary doctor who cares about his patient, rather than give his patients the run around. Please doNOT go through what we went through, and avoid this doctor at all costs. Find another primary doctor. Not sure why UT Southwestern would employ doctors… who demonstrate they could less about their patients.

I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Obafemi because I was in horrible pain and thought that UTSW had some of the best doctors around. His first order of business was to prescribe me anxiety medication and I had to almost beg him to send me to a specialist. I'm glad that I did because my condition could have been detrimental if not caught early. Even after the diagnosis, his office still showed no concern about what was going on. I have reached out to them many times and maybe two days later I will get a text from the nurse, who has no idea what is he is talking about. I find it ironic that Dr. Obafemi questioned my spirituality during my first appointment but he appears to have no compassion what so ever. Never again.

Dr. Obafemi' is one of the best doctors I've ever had in my short life-span of 70 years. I've only had 4 doctors I would rate "outstanding" in the Primary Care Physician category, and he is one of them. Two died years ago, and the other one wanted to spend the rest of their career in research (for noble causes). I searched hard before listing my review so as to give an unbiased review, but can't cite one negative things about this doctor; and, amazingly, in the year since I've been his patient, my opinion and evaluation of him threatens to outrank and exceed the other three (and admittedly I didn't think that possible because of my extreme fondness for the two who died). Try him, and I am 99.99% positive you will arrive at this same conclusion/evaluation!

Dr. Obefami is one of the best physicians I have ever met: Experienced; knowledgible; concerned and caring. Yes, I would definitely recommend Dr. Obafemi!
