Dr. Adekemi Akingboye Harvey, MD

Was over 45 minutes late, came in with no acknowledgment or apology for the delay. Also had a med student who she did not introduce right away, nor did she ask if I was comfortable having a med student in the room. She barely spent 15 minutes with me and acted like she was bored the whole time. Although my skin concerns were minor, she still did not treat me with respect. Hopkins has suppressed all negative reviews of her on their website, but I’m glad this site exists.

If you have rosacea or suspect you have rosacea do not...I repeat DO NOT see Adekemi Akingboye. She barely asked me any questions about my skin (like when do I flush or if it’s painful or not) and quickly prescribed me a cream (Rhofade) that she told me norhing about other than that it would “help with redness”. It took my mild redness and made my face blood red (and caused me to have burning and stinging sensations I never had before). I had to find out through horrible reviews what I was experiencing. I am still trying to recover almost 5 months later after only using the cream for 4 days. I wish she had actually cared about me as her patient but when I came back in with my bad reaction she had no compassion and didn’t take me seriously at all. She is a horrible dermatologist. If I could give 0 stars I would. She doesn’t even deserve one star!

Dr. consistently comes in 20+ minutes late to appointments and starts by saying she can't do a "full workup," only a "half workup," because insurance might not cover a full workup. In other words, the patient is punished for Dr. Akingboye's tardiness so that she can catch up with her own schedule. Would not recommend!

Very knowledgeable and friendly.

I wanted a dermatologist to examine a growth on my forehead. I was able to get a same day appointment, and fortnately Dr. Akingboye was able to confirm that the growth was benign. Dr. Akingboye was pleasant, listened carefully, and conducted a thorougn exam.
