Dr. Adelia Adibovna Sazonov, DO

Confronted my wife's affair partner with "aggressive behavior". Cops made me go to the psych ward. Stayed there 10 days under her "care". She's terrible. Condescending and judgemental. Cold as the stone her Russian baby doll was probably made out of. I told her she could wait until I was done talking to speak, and that she was no better than me, were equals, she scoffed. She punished me. People in my situation need someone therapeutic, with bedside manner. One that tries to understand. You won't get that from her.

An excellent doctor and helpful person. There are two opposing forces - the disease and the doctor. And there is a patient. In the struggle between the doctor and the disease, which side the patient chooses, he will have a better chance of winning. It is safe to say about this doctor that even if you choose the side of the disease, this doctor will fight for you and your health until victory. Thank you very much for your work!

DO. NOT. SEE. THIS. "DOCTOR". If you have any other option, stay far, far away. I spent 6 days in a psychiatric unit being treated by this woman and left the hospital in worse condition than when I came. To give you some insight in to her reputation on my unit, one of the patients while I was there nicknamed her "the assassin" and every single person there took up that nickname. She has horrific bedside manner, insulted me repeatedly (for example: told me I looked and sounded like a screaming toddler during a panic attack) prescribed inappropriate off-label medications without trying a typical course of treatment first and then refused to explain why, and just generally refused to explain anything or answer any questions because "asking a lot of questions tells me that you're anxious and I'm not going to feed in to that". Then after refusing to explain anything to me, when I said I didn't want to take the medications because I didn't understand what they were for, she promptly told me… that refusal to take my medications would be deemed "non-compliance" and that I would not be able to leave the hospital until I complied with my treatment plan. I ended up having to take the medications anyway and push through nearly intolerable side effects, pretending that the meds were helping, so I could be released from the hospital and go get treatment from a REAL doctor. I could not imagine a worse person to deal with people in a mental health crisis. She should NOT be allowed around vulnerable people.

I saw her as an inpatient at the Lake Shore Hospital's Behavioral Health Unit in Silver Creek, NY. While there were extenuating circumstances in regards to weather that interfered with me being able to meet with her, I got a descent impression once I was finally able to sit down with her. She listened to what I had to say and we had a descent yet meaningful discussion. She does have a tough outer shell to her, but she's not heartless. And sometimes tough love is what a patient with aggressive depression and anxiety, such as myself, need in order to properly get better. I can't judge her too harshly because I didn't get too much time with her, but I think she's a descent person from my experience with her. I can say that sometimes medicine is necessary. If you need/want talk therapy, go to a psychologist, counselor, or psychotherapist. But if you need medication for your condition, psychiatrists such as Dr. Sazonov should be considered. Their job is to assess the situation and prescribe… medication as necessary. She didn't change my medication, which I was happy with since I need more time on it to really tell if it's working or not. Dr. Sazonov is not for everyone, but if you're serious about knuckling down and getting your out-of-control symptoms under control, Sazonov is a good candidate for this.

Thisndr refused my son who was manic and told to go to check in to inpatient after beinging unmedicated for 7 months based on her " familiarity with him from ECMC" she refused to even SEE him dispite the recommendation of the counselor and nurses at LAKEVIEW HOSPITAL she REFUSED MY SON ADMISSION who was in a mental health crisis her license NEEDS TO BE REVOKED I WILL SEE TO IT

The most rude, condescending, and inappropriate doctor I have ever met. Stay clear of this doctor if you want real help and not just pills!
