Dr. Aditi B Bhaduri, MD

I really love Dr. Bhaduri. I came to her recently after a thyroid ultrasound which my GP said warranted further attention. Dr. Bhaduri did a fine needle aspiration biopsy (herself - she didn't just farm it out to an assistant), talking to me the whole time and afterwards about what they were looking for, what to expect when we got the results, etc. The results were back VERY quickly (they have consistently been so since then), and indicated that I needed surgery. She called me at home herself and talked me through what was happening, and recommended a really fantastic surgeon. I ended up having my entire thyroid out, and the biopsy of that showed that it was, indeed, cancerous. When I had my follow-up with her to discuss how to proceed, I started to get really scared and weepy while still sitting in the waiting room (I had arrived quite early, coming straight from the surgeon's office and getting my biopsy results), someone went and got her nurse, Jackie, who sat with me the entire… time until Dr. Bhaduri finished with her previous patient. By that time, she and I had already talked several times about all of the what-ifs after surgery, but she once again sat with me and went through it all again until I was feeling less terrified of the "big C" (no she doesn't call it that). My treatment now is still ongoing, but I have had such positive experiences with her, her WONDERFUL nurse, and indeed the entire office staff (including billing - I am in-insured), that I am absolutely confident that I am getting the best possible care.

Very bad. We did bloodwork and was waiting for several weeks to hear back. We had to call back them for report. They never bother to care. Getting access to doctor over phone is like herculean task. This is NOT a good doctor at all. I would not advice to my friends and relatives for sure.

I am so glad I found Dr. Bhaduri. After being told for years that what I believed to be thyroid problems were anxiety or depression or simple laziness, I was very afraid to see a new doctor. However Dr. Bhaduri actually took the time to listen to me and didn't dismiss my concerns. She then did testing no other doctor had felt was necessary and found evidence of long standing thyroid problems. She began treatment right away and after only a few weeks I already feel so much better. She even called me herself to discuss my test results and make a treatment plan. I have never been so pleased with a doctor and would recommend her to anyone who has endocrine problems.

Asked the doctor a question, the reply was, "ask the dietitian", which tells me she didn't know the answer and didn't want to take the time to answer.

I had to change my endicronologist because Dr. Silverman retired. I was a bit concerned but found Dr. Bhaduri is competent and caring. She made the transition from Dr. Silverman easy for me and I've received excellent care from her.

The first time I went to this office, I saw Dr. Silverman. I was hugely disappointed, I had blood work done and GOT A LETTER of diagnosis - Hashimoto's. I didn't even know what it was! I called the office and asked to speak with him, he does not take calls (what?!?!) so his nurse took the call. I asked her if he could call me back, she said no, that's her job. I asked her what Hashimoto's was, she told me that it was explained in my letter and if I had any more questions to visit thyroid.com. A couple of months later I called them back with severe depression, heart palpitations, and other symptoms of the disease and asked for help, the nurse explained (because Dr. S does not converse with patients by phone) that they could not prescribe me anything until the thyroid was completely damaged/destroyed by the disease, and she cheerfully explained this could be years away! I went ahead and made an appointment with Dr. Silverman so he could say it to my face, that he didn't want to help me,… and the appointment was 2 months away! So I called about a month later to see if there were any cancellations and I got the news! He broke his leg and was retiring, that I was reassigned to Dr. Bhaduri. I met with Dr. B, but by then the Hashimoto's attack had subsided for the time being and I was feeling a little better. However, she wrote a prescription for the thyroid replacement medication, saying studies show it helps fight the Hashimoto's (which is what Thyroid.com said!! Too bad Dr. S didn't read up!) The best part... she told me to start taking it when I was ready! So I walked out of her office feeling listened too... and I was able to PARTICIPATE with a DOCTOR in making decisions regarding my health. She was an answer to many prayers. Almost a year later I had more bloodwork and she said the same thing, start the meds when ready, however this time judging from my bw we might need to do frequent follow ups regarding how the synthroid might affect other results on my test. I still have not started the meds yet, but will in the next few weeks after new insurance kicks in. I will report back any other opinions on my care. I feel confident that she will stick with me.I will say that her staff is not always pleasant... particularly the front office staff. When you walk in the front door, no one greets you. There are 3 ladies employed to check in all of the patients. From what I gather, they work for specific doctors but they all sit behind one single counter. When you walk in there might be a couple of other people standing around trying to figure out which clipboard they need to sign up on, and those patients that know the drill will walk around you and sign up in front of you. The whole time, these ladies are using so much effort to pretend you are not there. Blatant ignoring! If you have questions about insurance, etc... well, you'll just have to wait until someone from the back is good and ready to talk to you! One of the ladies has to get up out of their chair to go back there! lol! Also, the second time I saw Dr. Bhaduri the nurse who took my blood pressure said it was really high. Dr. Bhaduri took it again and corrected her mistake. I have never spoken with Dr. B's telephone nurse - don't even know if she has one as both times I had blood work, she personally called me with results. I clicked that the wait time in the office was 20 minutes, but then you go sit in the exam room for another 15. When making an appointment, make sure to ask about days that are slower (some of the docs in this practice see diabetic patients on specific days and for some reason these appointments take longer and the schedule gets thrown off... and you wait.) However, the bottom line is Dr. Bhaduri is worth the hassle and the parking, etc to see. She flat out cares about making you feel better and at this point, I wouldn't dream of going to anyone else.

She cares about the patient and it shows with the attitude she brings into the room. She is warm, caring, and doesn't let the uninsured go without basic necessities for a diabetic. I've been to three endocrinologists since my diagnosis in 2004 and I won't leave her until I move or she does. With six months between visits, she still noticed the weight loss in my face before looking at my chart. It shows how much she's paying attention to little things that you do in the office. The professionalism of the staff is amazing and I rarely rate things online, much less give glowing reviews. Dr. Bhadouri deserves it, though.

I think that Dr. Bhaduri is very knowledgeable and has a mild yet warm bedside manner. I think her calm may be mistaken for meekness (in the negative sense.) With a group practice (10+ doctors and probably the same amount of nurses) I find that sometimes waits may be a little longer. They are handling ALL the paperwork, pre-exams, prescriptions and follow-up calls, emails and snail mail. If that isn't your style, they aren't the only people in Atlanta practicing that kind of medicine. CHANGE! Afterall, YOU are the one that came to Dr.Bhaduri -- she didn't seek you out. And regarding being rude -- It's probably people's huffing and demands and dis-ease that puts the staff on edge sometimes. But generally people mirror our moods. So just be nice. Is it really that hard? And don't try to squeeze your health into your lunch break - take the time out to do it properly. P.S. Your friends, family and co-workers understand more than you know. Dr. Bhaduri will not let you know about lab results, even when they are highly abnormal. You cannot get a copy of your lab results from her office. Her staff is rude.
