Stay away from him. He is pathological.

I must say I was not impressed the first few times I saw Dr. B. I did not care for his bedside manner, and his lack of time he spent reviewing history of medical issues and need for continued pain management. He is very smart and is quick to pick out the frauds, which I appreciate, because they give us patients (who are really in severe, debilitating pain) a bad reputation and, because of the frauds, we find it difficult to be treated. I’m sure Dr. B is under the scrupulous watch of the FDA and he doesn’t want to be a pill mill. He is ethical in this regard. I have much respect for him for standing up for us patients who are only able to be managed and somewhat productive with pain medication. If we had a choice we wouldn’t be on it. Therein lies the difference between us and the addicts, frauds, junkies. He will reduce your medication if it’s over prescribed (13 percs a day? For ONE herniated disc? OMG, please. IF you do have pain, it’s probably your liver you’ve destroyed with… over-medicating) but you will thank him for it later, even if you do experience pain, at some level, every minute of every day (except when able to sleep). I think he runs a tight ship. He’s as “tight” with his patients as he is with his staff. He doesn’t want to hear a life story, he just wants the facts, and some people may think he is curt and dismissive. I think he’s just done this long enough that he knows what to look for and how to treat it. At this time, I am grateful to be under his care and the only negative I could add to this review is the transient staff I have noticed in the turnover of the office. I expect that would happen in any turnover, though. You adjust, or you move on, and it’s that simple. He’s not doing it to punish you. He’s doing it to help you. Some days it’s all barks and no pats on the head for this physician specializing in a controversial area, but as far as I’m concerned, I admire his gusto and forthright demeanor (and sense of humor). He’s earned my trust and a good review.

Terrible physician and belittles you, does not believe you, won't review history/X-rays/MRIs. If you require pain relief to be productive, to him, you're an addict. Plain and simple. Derives pleasure by seeing you at your worst, in agony. Heartless. No compassion. Needs different specialty. If you are hospitalized, he does not increase medication, he decreases it!

This is the funiest and most professional doctor ever! His injections helped me a lot after the car accident!

He manages your pain plus you have the option for him to do the pain steroid epidural injections himself. Its nice to know the person managing your pain can treat it himself with alternate modalities of medicine. Takes patients pain seriously but also warns patients about side effects and risks. Knows what he is doing and treats patients with dignity and respect. It's also nice he takes car accident medical payments from car insurers paying out for car accident injuries. Otherwise I would not be getting any pain relief even though I have Kaiser and suffer daily. God Bless Dr. B he's great choice for pain management but he's no quack. Not a pill miller either so go elsewhere if thats all your looking for. He does treat pain well for those who need it. Kaiser is wishy washy when it comes to pain managment. Try All med Pain Management with Dr. B if you need good quality pain care in Sacramento.

I have been very satisfied from the first day I saw Dr Birladeanu. He reviewed all my X-rays and MRI before confirming my previous diagnosis. He has always treated me with respect and courtesy. I have had spinal injections for a herniated disc that is sitting on my sciatic nerve. Between the injections and medication, I can now tie my shoes without wincing in pain. We are still trying different modalities of treatment for more relief, but he has been honest forthright about my prognosis and I.appreciate his honesty. I like him and would recommend him to anyone with real issues. He will do his best to help.

I met Dr. Bethel for the first time today (though I have been a patiet at TPRC for almost a year). I recently found out that the clinic had Saturday hours. (Yes, you read that right!) However, Dr. Bethel is the only physician at the clinic on Saturday -- thus the switch in provider. I had several questions about treatment options and his experience was evident in the way he laid out options and answered the questions I had. I also found him to be quite knowledgeable about my insurance provider which is a rarity. In my experience most doctors would rather have their office staff talk to you about insurance or or just tell you to call your carrier yourself. We discussed options, time frames, and I now have a new treatment plan for finding some long term pain relief....hopefully with a reduction in pain, pills, and overall time spent in doctors offices. Today I am optimistic about getting a bit of quality of life back.

Due to business I had to see this Dr instead of my normal doctor. He was rude, he made me feel inferior, and like I was a junkie. 3 months ago I finally felt as though I was stable, improving, and in good hands at Tampa Pain Releif. I was forced to see Dr Bethel due to a trip I was taking. My normal doctor was unavailable. He took it upon himself to lecture me about the medication I was being maintaned on by his colleagues, and then arbitrarily decided to lower my dosages without discussing why, (he stated he didn't feel comfortable, it was too much) he told me if I didn't like it to come back and see my normal doctor. Then ripped up all the prescriptions. This guy wasted my time while I was already swamped with preparing for my trip. I can't understand people like this. He has no clue as to the extent of what I've gone through yet takes it upon himself to make cursory decisions and treat people poorly.
