Dr. Adrian M Jaffer, MD

I have become disillusioned with this practice. Dr. Jaffer was great years ago, but now he is only there three days a week for about 6 hours a day and does not keep current. He only treats your symptoms, does not make any attempt to find the cause and does not follow up on the recommended lab tests for the terrible side effects of the drugs he prescribes. Drug reps come into the office very often and he leaves patients waiting while he talks to them. The staff is the perfect example of "when the cat's away". They are a group of snarky, entitled underachievers who moan and complain instead of offering an excellent patient service. I was actually told by them that my insurance did not pay them enough to take the time to follow up on my questions! I have moved on to a real Scripps doctor, not just one who rents space in a Scripps building.

I have an extremely complicated medical history. Many Rheumatologists either had no idea what to do, or simply did nothing. Some promised me quality of life and produced nothing. I was so tired of making all of my Rheumatological medical decisions alone without any guidance from my previous Rheumatologist. Then I was blessed with making an appointment and meeting Dr. Jaffer. Within minutes I started feeling something I haden't experienced in years. It was relief. I felt hope again. He had listened to everything I had said, then promply went to do what he does so well. He begain to relieve my pain and then he did what so many others couldn't. He gave me my life back. He gave me the quality of life I had so prayed for. I will always be grateful to Dr. Jaffer for my life as it is today, for my ability to be able to be there for my beautiful family. Dr. Jaffer is simply a genius as many of his patients know and several of my doctors acknowledge the same feeling. It doesn't get any better… than this. Thank you Dr. Jaffer for your great care and for being the Dr. that you are.

I loved this doctor for a few years until he became disinterested. He never checked my joints or touched me (fingers, elbows, etc.) He didn't tell me prednisone can stop ovulation (he said, "I didn't think it would be a big deal on the small amount you were taking"). Well, 12 months later I went back on my meds and started adoption proceedings. It mattered a lot. He said EVERYONE can always work. He'd never sign an SSI or SSDI form for anyone. When I heard him joking about my RA and how slow I was working with his office staff (without him knowing I was standing right there checking out) I told him I was leaving. I think overall he is a caring man, and when I was first diagnosed with RA, I paid out of pocket for him to give me advice on long-term treatment options, and then went back to my HMO rheum. I have never regretted his advice. He was the right doctor for my early 20s, but life progressed and my needs changed, I felt I was a burden to him and he was just putting in his time with… me and writing prescriptions. I think being a rheumatologist is very hard, as most patients are never "cured" and there is little glory it in. But I still knew when it was time to move on.

DR. JAFFER IS AN EXPERT IN HIS FIELD, DECADES OF INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION AND PRACTICE QUALIFY THIS OUTSTANDING DOCTOR. HE BROUGHT ME OUT OF THE WORST EXASERBATION OF A.S. AND TREATED ME WITH PASSION AND IMMEDIATE HELP IN PAIN RELIEVE. ALSO BROUGHT ME TO THE MAINTENANCE PROGRAM, GIVING MY LIFE JOY AND MOTIVATION AGAIN. THANK YOU, DR. JAFFER!

He is the man! Knowledgeable and when he doesn't have the answer he is not afraid to tell you.
