Good listener. Patient with the patient. Effective healer. Has made a difference in my health.

Dr. Shandling is very well respected amongst the medical community. My advice is to be sure to have questions ready, he will answer them. He will go over what you need to know in the time allotted. Even if he runs out of time, he will try to make it work before you leave. Dr. Shandling's bedside manner varies, but he is has never been rude or may seem like he is not interested but he listens and he is interested. Working with leaving messages for him to call back or asking for someone to call back is another story. Really have found it is the office, not Dr. Shandling. Be persistent until you get a call back. When in the office the staff is very friendly and appears to be very caring as well. If unsure about a decision, don't feel pressured to make it right away, ASK QUESTIONS, don't just accept the pamphlet that is given to you as an answer. He is very open to second opinions, if his concern is urgent, he may suggest you the second opinion will take too long, however, it not… against a second opinion in any way.
