Dr. Schiano was born and raised in Houston, TX where she graduated as Valedictorian from Stratford High School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering with High Honors from the University of Texas at Austin and her M.D. degree from UT Houston McGovern Medical School. During her time at UT Houston, Dr. Schiano was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Dr. Schiano completed an Internal Medicine internship at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, where she was awarded “Intern of the Year.” She then completed her Ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, where she discovered her love for reconstructive and cosmetic eyelid surgery. Dr. Schiano was selected to remain at UT Southwestern to complete a fellowship in Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery and is very excited to continue to serve the DFW area. With her background in engineering, Dr. Schiano enjoys the challenge and …creative problem solving involved with devising unique surgical solutions to each patient’s needs. Her greatest joy is helping to protect the gift of sight while restoring confidence in her patients’ appearance. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, gardening, pilates, and spending time with her family.
