Dr. Afif Hentati, MD

Dr Hentati is the best! I’ve been seeing him for years, and I will keep seeing him until he retires, which I hope isn’t soon.

I think my title should describe it. He is very unempathetic. Who leaves such a huge diagnosis on a voicemail? That is one you definitely should do face to face and if you don’t know that than you should not be a doctor.

I have been a patient of Dr. H. for many years. He has never had a good bedside manner; however, as the years pass he seems less interested. Spends so little time with me & I have to suggest changes in medications, PT etc. I'm looking to find another doctor who actually looks at me instead of the computer. I'm sure he's knowledgeable but it would be nice if he shared his knowledge with his patients.

Wasn't helpful for me. Made me wait over an hour in the room before being seen by him. He came in with a resident and didn't really ask me if it was ok if they were there. Told me I had headaches not migraines then asked me my symptoms and then said yes you have migraines. Just very condescending, didn't listen, felt rushed, didn't respect my perscription concerns with imitrex. Inevitably i left with a Rx for blood pressure meds to take to prevent migraines my hormonal migraines. I took them for awhile but they made me almost feel worse and depressed. Im glad he helps some people but he did anything but for me.

Dr. Hentati is very knowledgeable, compassionate and upbeat. I don't worry as much with him as my doctor.

I would not recommend this Dr.

I had a terrible experience with this doctor. He cost me thousands by not accurately documenting my disease and case. He was not very informative and actually misdiagnosed my disease. I can't think of anything positive about this doctor.

While the staff was excellent and friendly and it was easy to book an appointment promptly, I would not recommend this doctor. He was dismissive of my concerns and while I kept asking him questions to get more clarity, he didn't seem to have any interest in explaining much about the diagnosis. It is important to me that a doctor is not only professional, but that he places importance on patient education and bedside manner. This is not reflective on other medical professionals at Northshore with whom I've had positive interactions with.

I would rate Dr. Hentati as a 5/5. He provides excellent medical care. He is courteous and very thorough in his neurological exams, he explains how "your before and after results" in plain english, he does not try to "sugar coat the progression of your disease. Which I appreciate tremendously because I want the "Facts" , he allows the patient to take management of their own disease.
