Dr. Afshan H Dehlavi, MD

Dr. Dehlavi is one of a kind! She truly cares for her patients and their well being. She is very knowledgeable, caring and is great at communicating with me about my little one. We hope to stay with her for years to come.

Dr Afshan Dehlavi is the worst doctor ever!!! She didn't even spend 5 minutes with my infant daughter. So much so, that I had her nurse call her back into the room because I was dissatisfied. When the Dr came back, she was argumentative (how dare I call her back). I met her raised voice and told her that I couldn't believe that was my appointment. She didn't ask if I had any questions - heck, this doctor didn't even acknowledge me. Later, when I discussed my experience with a nurse at another clinic she said, "I know exactly who that is." And she was right. Apparently this doctor has a reputation of NOT spending anytime with her patients, for not being patient with their needs and for just walking out when she wants to. I would strongly suggest you find another pediatrician. This one doesn't even take kids older than 5 - No matter what the situation. She is young and thinks that she can act superior because she wears the doctor's badge....little does she know the power is with the one… who pays her. Don't feed into her narcissism and find someone who actually cares about your kid and will actually look you in the face when she does it.

Sadly this physician is argumentative, & not kind to my kiddos OR me! My kiddos pick up on her negativity and theyve started resenting going to see her. She has told me I'm taking up too much of her time, or she's already 'wasted' 30 minutes with us. WHAT? Who does that?She belittles the kids right in front of them. One of my children is ADHD I started the year off on 15 mg of his meds and his first six weeks of school were awesome. Without school or behavior issues, She argued we MUST go back on what he ended with the previous school year (25 mg) just because she did the research last year. WHAT? Over medicate for your own power? You're fired!

I love her, as do my children. Wait time is a joke. once watched a nurse leave for lunch while I was waiting to get a booster shot with my daughter, that visit was 1 hour and 45 minutes, for a visit with a nurse for a shot. she is amazing, and staff is lovely, the office manager needs to find a better sytem;-(

Communication with her office is almost impossible. They keep you on the phone for 30 minutes without even answering you. It is really dificult to talk to Dr. No follow up from her staff. Although I like the Dr. herself, because of poor administration of her office I took my children somewhere else.

Dr. Dehlavi was the pediatrician for all four of my children but once my youngest child got sick, thats when things went downhill. She misdiagnosed my son not once but THREE times - of which all three times we ended up in the hospital on an average of 4 to 7 days. Not only did she misdiagnosed but we were told that our child was Failure to Thrive in which we were monitored and looked down upon as parents. Our first trip to the hospital, I was told I couldn't breastfeed any longer because they needed to monitor my son's intake of formula. Finally, we switched pediatricians, in which she diagnosed my son NOT failure to thrive, but simply having seasonal allergies and in need of a dose of children's allergy medicine daily.Not only have we dealt with a misdiagnosis, but I am still waiting for the staff to call me back in regards to my son's shot records that he needs for school registration. Turn around time is said to be 48 hours and I am still waiting for a phone call....8 days later. I… have been traumatized as a parent and I would advise any parents looking for a pediatrician to steer clear of this practice.

Dr. dehlavi is very sweet dr. her office is packed usally but hey its bc she's a sweet and wonderful dr. my kids were dad to see and hear their favorite nurse, britany was no longer there at my daughters appointment. She was a wonderful nurse I even enjoyed her, my children adored her and ske seemed to love her job and my kids in return. Sad we won't see her anymore but we will still be using dr. dehlavi as my childrens dr. just wish brittany would come back :]

I like Dr. Dehlavi as a Dr, She has always seemed to understand my concerns with my kids and is willing to address concerns not necessarily related to the reason we were there. I was even surprised a few days after a visit to get a call checking on how my child was doing, I had never really had that for what seems to be a routine fever/viral illness. I will agree the wait time can be trying, but I have at times been fit in same day so I understand it is a but of a longer wait. I was disappointed at our last visit to find out her nurse was no longer with her, my kids loved her, and she always remembered all my kids, even the ones not being seen.

TCPA as a whole is probably the worst facility to send your child. I will advise any parent to not send their child to TCPA. That's why I transfered my children to another pediatrician who dosn't work for any TCPA office.Dr. Dehlavi comes off as nice, but she is not. She misdiagnosed my child and he suffered for almost a year due to her not being proactive. Also, she fail to admit that she was wrong and that she made a mistake. My problems with TCPA and Dr. Delhavi were:Extremely long wait times.It's extremely difficult to schedule a suitable appointment time.She never followed up nor did she have knowledge about my son's condition. You don't play guessing games or pump kids up with meds! TCPA does not have evening or weekend hours in case of an emergency.Most of the nurses are rude. The waiting room is small and always crowded.Dr. Dehlavi never spent that much time with my children or to answer any questions.She always appeared to be overworked, disengaged, and overwhelmed.The… list goes on. Basically, if your child has a life threatening emergency, then please avoid this doctor and TCPA at all cost!

Very poor in handling emergencies.The nurse T is very rude. Glad I got a different doctor.
