Dr. Afsheen Iqbal, MD

Dr Iqbal has been my Medical Oncologist for 4 years, and has been effective, responsive, and diligent in my care.

Dr. Iqbal has been treating my dad for 2 years now. He is very happy with her compassion and knowledge. She is a wonderful caring doc who knows how to talk to my dad. We trust her fully and are so happy to have found a doctors like her.

My mother has been under the care Dr. Iqbal for 4 years at MSK. She is beyond caring and loving. My mother had the option to go to the newer Sloan in Monmouth but she would never give up seeing her.

Dr. Iqbal has made my cancer experience less challenging. My appointments are always short- mainly because Ive been doing well, but we also feel like there are times where i wish she gave more detailed information regarding the entire process- as opposed to stating the results. We typically leave her appointments very happy, yet unsure about whats next. Showing us the progressions using visuals of the scans would be helpful. Overall, my family and I are currently happy with Dr Iqbal.

She’s warm, smart, astute and has always made us feel very comfortable being at Memorial. We are very happy.

Never examines patients. 5 minute visit to exain CT or PET result. Other oncs state this is not standard for an oncologist to not touch/examine a cancer patient. Never listens to lungs, heart or feels for lymph nodes or enlarged organs. Cant hold a candle to Dr Passalaris, who is an immaculate clinician. Perhaps its religous? Or, the new medical schools. Find another doc.

The d l M family has been very blessed by having Dr Iqbal as their Oncologist for the last 2 1/2 years. She is very informative, caring, knowledgeable and committed to providing the highest level of care. She is also very compassionate and understanding. We have been very fortunate to have her during this challenging journey.

Absolutely love Dr. Iqbal. She has taken such great care of my mother, and we are forever thankful. She is smart, and truly cares for the patient. Cancer is not easy to treat, and we feel we are in the best of hands.

This Dr makes false statements such as not a single patient has had any side effects of Opdivo Immunotherapy. She keeps insisting these ridiculous claims and will talk over you as well as when you want to show her something such as a rash, she just yah yah ok no not a side effect. Opdivo clearly states a skin rash and blistering as a side effect and instead gives a script for antibiotics when Opdivo Clearly states that any rash with blisters requires a corticosteroid. I'm requesting a new Oncologist for my father and someone who caring and wants to be a real doctor with care and concern. She is not a top Dr at Sloan and is an embarrassment to the medical community

Dr.Iqbal is knowledgeable about all the bnewest treatments for lung cancer. She is patient in explaining your scans and has a wonderful bedside manner. I have been going to her for nearly four years and could not be happier.
