Dr. Afshin Bahador, MD

ago I have been seeing Dr Bahador for my Uterus Hyperplasia problem .Being an oncologist he never took my case seriously . He denied doing my hysteroscopy saying I should get it done by gynaec when that was his responsibilty as I am patient of hyperplasia and should be monitored closely by oncologist as my gynae referred .But he refused and keep sending me back saying I am fine . In my recent checkup with gynae I got very bad results in biopsy and it could have been surely avoided if Dr bahador took me seriously and not sending me back over and over again saying I am in good health . Behavioural aspect He is very rude and insulting .In my last appointment yesterday I started crying as he made me feel that I am wasting his time .He suggested me surgery and I was asking some questions around options which any normal patient would do .But he took that as an offense and told me go see some other doctor .He really need to work on his patient doctor relationship . My appointment… ended in 10 mins and he just dnt want to explain anything rather imposing his decision with extreme insulting manner . If some one read this review from his office PLEASE SEND HIM TO PATIENT DOCTOR COUNSELLING . He is horrible and can send you in self pity that you are sick .

I suffered for many years in silence with endometriosis. After having a diagnostic laparoscopy, my OBGYN refered me to Bahador since the endo was extensive. He was confident he could help me and he did. I’ve been free of pain since he performed my surgery. He may be slightly arrogant but he knows his stuff. He always answered my questions thoroughly and always made me feel at ease. Highly recommend.

Unfortunately has gotten very arrogant- I guess after he was on the cover of San Diego Magazine it got to his head!

The worst doctor and office staff I have ever experienced. Find another doctor! There are so many better doctors out ther. Please do your research. Not only is he so very condescending and disrespectful to his patients, he over bills for an office visit (chargered my insurance $2200.00!!! For a consultation visit). There seems like insurance fraud going on too. Ladies please find another doctor and practice! You’re going through a very sensitive time in your life if you need to go to this type of doctor don’t waste a moment of your precious time! You are only a money maker for them. They all have no compassion for you. Please please research and find another doctor and practice!!

He only studied my ultrasound and told me I have endometriosis stage four and it might attach to the bladder or bowel. He suggested me to cut off the whole thing; uterus and reproductive organs and I can schedule operation within 3 weeks. He didn’t even bother for further investigation and also told me it might be ovarian cancer. Luckily, I had done too many research related to my health. I said good bye to him and will never suggested him to anyone!

Dr. Bahador was doing rounds for his partner (Dr Bridgette Duggan, an excellent surgeon) on a Saturday morning at Sharp. I was apparently his first victim of the day. He came into my room and told me i had uterine cancer, when in fact i have ovarian cancer. He went on to tell me that my appendix was not taken out, when the Sharp nurse corrected him and told him it was removed. He further went on to tell me the reason people get ovarian cancer is because "they are obese." Body shaming is SO inappropriate anytime, but especially when a patient is just coming out of a major surgery. Dr Bahador made an EGREGIOUS error by NOT EVEN READING MY CHART BEFORE ENTERING MY ROOM. He is the worst example of patient relations I have ever seen and the most disgusting bedside manner I have ever encountered. I am thankful he was NOT my surgeon; this was NOT THE 'SHARP EXPERIENCE."

So unprofessional should have his medical license taken away thinks he is God and won't take responsibility for his mess up on my surgery

I consider him God sent to me.He is vry caring and the best doctor.

Highly recommend, wonderful bedside manner, excellent surgeon, extremely professional, nothing but the best.
