Dr. Aftab Mahmood, MD

Horrible. Dr wasn't bad, however the front desk staff is why I left. Ibadan told my appointment would be virtual and I would receive a phone call. I never received a phone call. When I called to check, I was told my appointment is late and I would have to reschedule. I asked why and they said I should have received a link. I explained inwas told I would get a phone call and I never did. Not going back. I can't trust this place with my health when they don't know how my appointment will be.

My primary physician referred me to Dr. Aftab Mahmood. As a 73-year-old female diagnosed with non-smoker lung cancer, Dr. Mahmood has been a godsend to my well-being and longevity. He is truly one of a kind among ALL the doctors I have encountered. He is dedicated to his patients in every way that counts. He is vocal, hands-on, compassionate, and extremely thorough. He speaks in terms you understand, clear and productive. He covered all aspects of my cancer treatment with concise details, so there were no questions left unanswered. As a cancer doctor, he makes certain you are well cared for in and out of his office. He referred me to a wonderful thoracic surgeon who successfully removed my lung cancer and also a radiation specialist. Both are top-notch professionals. Dr. Mahmood has a trained staff that is equally devoted to patient care. They are attentive and dedicated. I feel so cared for and at peace with Dr. Mahmood and his staff. I am grateful to have him as my doctor. Do NOT… hesitate to call for an appointment. You will NOT be sorry. 100+ stars!

If you want to get poor customer service and fight for what you need medically than go to Dr. Aftab Mahmoods. My Wife needed an iron fusion urgently for over a month during pregnancy with critically low iron levels. After weeks of a simple iron infusion needing to be ordered, we had to call and go back and forth with nurse Wendy about things like the insurance hasn't responded the infusion center hasn't responded, excuse after excuse. More like she was to busy or to lazy to pick up a phone and make it happen efficiently. Eventually contacted the "Office manager". No immediate resolve. After calling with no answer a few mornings later, we ended up directly calling the infusion center that was supposedly the reason for the hold up, only to find out thatthat the incorrect iron infusion was ordered days ago, they had contacted them back to let them know, and Mahmoods office hadn't replied. I feel bad for Dr. Mahmood because his staff is ruining his name. Maybe their aren't enough options… in town so they are just used to collecting insurance, but wow. This is the health field. Efficiently in these matters is something to be expected.

He's a super doctor.

From the front door to the end of visit everyone is very sweet. Dr. Mahmood listens, respects and treats you as a person, not as a just another person with cancer. He truly cares about you and your in my case husband. His nurse Anna is just amazing. She is serious but makes you feel at ease, explains everthing and lives all her patients. We drive all the way from north of Austin to have Dr. MAHMOOD TAKE CARE OF ME. YES, I COULD GO IN Austin but none compare. I know why he's the People's Choice twice. He my choice always.

what an exceptional man! I have never felt so competently cared for. DR Mahmood took me on as a patient and squeezed me into his totally booked schedule and arranged appointments for me to receive 2 iron infusions in 4 days.

Dr. Mahmood and his staff treated my father during his 3+ year battle with leukemia. He held this practice in high regard and I think he actually looked forward to his treatment. I was personally impressed with the prompt response to any request whether it be an appointment or a copy of lab work. Dr. Mahmood worked in perfect harmony was my father's oncologist at MD Anderson and his internal medicine doctor here. There was never a sense of arrogance or conflict in the treatment plan prescribed by MDA. The nurses, Staff, and volunteers were courteous, personable and loving to our entire family. I don't know how many choices are available in Corpus for oncology treatment but you cannot go wrong with the Corpus Christi Cancer Center. My only regret is that Business is so good.
