Dr. Agnes Diane Leon-Barriera, MD

Agnes Leon-Barriera, MD, is an Internal Medicine physician with specialized expertise in geriatric care. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Universidad Central del Caribe in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, and completed her Internal Medicine Residency Program at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She also completed a Geriatric Medicine Fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Leon Barriera is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. Her academic contributions include research on delirium in older adults, radiation effects during pregnancy, and anemia awareness in Puerto Rico. She has presented at the Geriatric Research Education and Clinical Center and is an active member of the American Geriatrics Society, American College of Physicians, and American Medical Association. Outside of medicine, Dr. Leon Barriera enjoys cooking, going to the movies, spending time with family, and traveling.
