Dr. Ahmad Muhammad Salah, DO

I have had a complex autoimmune disease for 17 years. When my trusted local rheumatologist Dr. Reddy retired, I scheduled with his replacement, Dr. Ahmad M. Salah. Unfortunately, my first visit was extremely disappointing. Upon entering the office the employees at the front desk were rude and only concerned about what they were getting for lunch. I was scheduled to see a doctor, but without warning or consent, I was given a rushed five-minute visit with a nurse practitioner instead — despite the complexity of my case. This was supposed to be my initial visit with a new rheumatologist, not a follow-up with someone unqualified to manage autoimmune disease. My 17-year medical timeline, which I prepared to make the visit efficient, was ignored. She did not perform an exam, or ask about my past organ involvement. My questions were dismissed outright. When I said that I felt my disease was flaring up and requested updated antibody testing, I was told it was “expensive” and unnecessary; she… only ordered it after I insisted. I was told I’d get a call if anything was positive and to follow up in four months. Two weeks later, I picked up the results myself. They showed very high antibody titers and multiple positive markers — clear evidence that my disease was active again. No one from the office ever contacted me. This wasn’t just poor bedside manner — it was clinically negligent. Patients with serious autoimmune disease cannot afford to be dismissed this way. I was billed for a specialist visit on top of my copay and my health was put at risk. I have since moved to a new rheumatologist at a university center, where my concerns were taken seriously and treatment was restarted. I strongly do not recommend this practice. I would give zero stars if possible. Patients deserve to be seen by the specialist they scheduled with, not handed off to someone inexperienced to manage complex autoimmune disease.

dr. salah is always very compassionate and understanding. he takes the time to answer ALL of my questions (no matter how small or silly). i never feel rushed. my case is fairly complicated and he is incredibly knowledgeable about all aspects of my health. i am quite confident in his ability as a physician and have recommended him to several people. he has been my doctor since 2021 and i followed him from franciscan. i would not want to see anyone else.
