Dr. Ahmed Medhat Afifi, MD

Dr. Afifi is kind and compassionate. On my first visit he had taken the time to read my case notes from my oncologist prior to meeting me. He listened intently to what I wanted with my reconstruction, and interjected with great follow up questions making sure he not only understood my case, but also my mindset. He’s a great listener with a humble spirit and has an incredible way of putting me at ease while discussing upcoming surgeries. His entire team including his lovely PA Claire and delightful Nurse Jen are all on the same page, and once a treatment plan is reached it is a seamless process from beginning to end. I would trust him to perform any surgery on me knowing how smart, skilled and dedicated he is to being the best in his field.

Dr. Ahmed Afifi is extremely professional, highly skilled and very dedicated to his practice. I had breast cancer, and he is my plastic surgeon for reconstruction surgery. He performed a DIEP flap procedure on me, which is where they take your tummy fat and construct breasts out of it, since I needed both breasts removed (double mastectomy). He went above and beyond to make sure I was fully informed and comfortable with the surgery. I needed two more minor surgeries after due to hematomas developing in one breast (which is common) and he was extremely accommodating, fitting me into his schedule and staying late to perform those surgeries to relive the pain I was having. He is very considerate and caring, and his staff is absolutely amazing, especially his PA, Dr. Clare Chandler. He is extremely skilled and is a perfectionist and dedicated to getting the results his patients desire. He even offered to do one of my surgeries on the weekend during his “time off,” I said no but his nurse… said he does that all the time for patients; that is how dedicated he is. I drive two hours to see him and he is worth that drive. I would highly recommend Dr. Afifi!

Dr. Afifi rescued my breast after it was horribly compromised from a surgery gone wrong by another surgeon. He managed not only to get me healthy but in an aesthetically impressive way. He is the most kind and competent doctor imaginable. If you thank him, he says ‘oh no, it was my honor’.

He did my corrective surgery to fix what another surgeon messed up. I am so great full for him. His staff was wonderful. I'll never forget the experience.

I had migraine surgery with Dr. Afifi after suffering from almost daily migraine headaches for much of my life. I was hopeful before surgery that he might be able to help me, but I prepared myself that I might just have to get used to having migraines forever. I can't believe it but...I have been migraine free since the surgery!! I am so grateful for such a kind, talented surgeon who has changed my life!!!
