It is my pleasure to give Dr. Ali Ahmed and his staff a glowing review. Being diagnosed with a chronic, condition is devastating. It adds stress and can bring on feelings of depression. Needless to say, it is a difficult thing to have to deal with. However, Dr. Ali Ahmed and his staff made the situation more bearable. They are kind, compassionate, and genuinely care for their patients. I often felt as if I was their only patient, with the level of care that I was given. Dr. Ali Ahmed, paid close attention to my unique situation, as he called it and made sure that I was fully informed! I had no issues scheduling appointments and receiving feedback if I had questions. This made things very convenient and most welcoming! I do not wish anyone to be ill, but I do wish that everyone could receive the type of healthcare provided by this wonderful doctor and his staff! I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Ali and his staff at the Northside's Midtown Radiation Oncology Clinic. Dr. Ali is extremely personable and highly trained in his field of radiation oncology. I underwent 35 radiation treatments for high risk prostate cancer. The whole team at the clinic were extremely competent, compassionate and respectful of my time and condition. What makes Dr. Ali a cut above the rest? (1) Dr. Ali keeps up to date on the latest and the greatest cancer fighting treatments and technologies, in order to deliver the best outcome with the fewest treatment side effects. (2) His staff is exemplary - professional, knowledgeable and compassionate! My husband and I loved our visit with Dr. Ali! He was personable, caring and informative. He took time to talk to us about treatments, what comes first and what to expect. His tips helped us save time and money by streamlining tests. Because our urologist practice doesn't have a point person, we were struggling to research the best treatment timeline. And, we were frustrated when we had to schedule a consultation with Dr. Ali that was over an hour drive each way. But, this was our best appointment for prostate cancer treatment, and we left with answers and an understanding of the timeline. I highly recommend him!

If you do not care about helping people with cancer, this is not the career for you. No bedside manner. Clearly doesn't care about his patients. Arrogant and rude. Dishonest. Zero ethics.

Dr Ali was my radiation oncologist in 2015 battling an aggressive breast cancer. He was thorough, professional, courteous and very caring. He explained the radiation treatments, patiently heard my concerns each time we met, weekly and even took great concern when an unrelated issue caused health problems and followed my progress to ensure I was getting care. He, undoubtedly, was a very important member of a clinical team that saved my life and I would highly recommend him. Thank you, Dr Ali.

Dr. Ali is confident in his treatment, but does not give you all the information you need to make good decisions. "Treatment" carries side effects. He will lie about those - the main ones covered in the journals - and tell you they rarely happen. When you experience them - you are on your own, and he will tell you those QOL concerns don't come from his "treatment" like pelvic radiation doesn't cause menopause. Well, it does. It always does. He could be a good doc and prepare his patients for what is to be, but he doesn't. He lies and tells you to deal with it and it will get better. It doesn't get better. He lied. I asked upfront about female issues about stenosis, menopause, osteoporosis. They don't happen he says. I should have known better. Bottom line is he is a technologically good radiologist who has the ability to target and radiate a tumor to ready it for surgery. Don't expect compassion or truthfulness about side effects or QOL that is effected for a lifetime. I would rather… honesty - especially when I flat out ask for the gory details. Give it to me straight. Don't lie.

Props to Dr. Ali because he does his job well. His job is to shrink tumors. Not to make you feel better or to console you over side effects because his treatment doesn't have any. Unfortunately, his job entails patient contact. Watch the video, shake the hands, take the card. But do your research for yourself, and deal with the side effects on your own, because he's not going to give you the effects of treatment straight - even if you ask. All your advice will come from the dressing room. Know this upfront.

Dr. Ali treated me for prostate cancer in March of 2017. His work was a model of professional excellence. He assisted me in focusing on understanding the best treatment for my condition and performed the implants. Most significant to me was the personal care and time invested by DR in monitoring my recovery and providing excellent follow up care when I had questions about my symptoms and recovery. Doctor Ali is one of the best practicing physicians I have met. He has my highest recommendation. You can proceed with confidence with DR Ali
