Dr. Ahmed Abdel Mekkawy, MD

This was my first consultation with Dr. Mekkawy related to a chronic issue. My appointment was as scheduled, and it did not go unnoticed that the waiting area and examination areas were nice and clean. After answering questions about my condition and sharing some medical history, Dr. Mekkawy was able to provide relevant insight and viable options for my recovery. More importantly, it appears that he listens to his patients and gives clear responses. It was also great to interact with Ms. Cindy and other office staff who made my visit feel welcoming.

As a physician, I could go to any doctor,and they would be honored to treat me. I go to Dr. Mekkway.

I visited today fort a flu shot and checkup. My husband was sick overnight with a temperature and cold so he was unable to keep his appointment. I was told since he was not able to keep his appointment there would be a 24 hour cancellation fee. I tried to explain that he was ill overnight and this morning. The staff stayed in no uncertain terms this was the doctor’s policy. I explained to the doctor my husband’s circumstances but no understanding was given. We have both been patients for over ten years. During this time his staff has been less than par treating patients without understanding or compassion. It seems the doctor allows his staff to run his office in this manner which is surprising since the doctor has always been professional and compassionate. I can’t continue dealing with his staff and need to transfer to a new doctor.

Dr. Mekkawy first saw me when I had a severe case of pneumonia and was hospitalized under his care. He has been relatively patient in explaining what I need to know to manage permanent ongoing lung issues since then. I had no previous pulmonary problems, and am learning how to manage issues. He gave me information to help me manage what may be ongoing issues that resulted from the severe pneumonia.

Office staff is what ruined going to this dr for me. They have no compassion for sick people, nor do they do their job fully.

I've read some reviews that indicate that they've not had a good experience. I have had nothing but good experience with this office every visit.

In my opinion, go to a different doctor. This doctor has exceptionally rude staff - they have a do-not-care attitude. The staff gets you upset instantly, and you cannot ask them a question without causing you to get upset. They have to remember that you are paying the bill. As far as the doctor himself, it seems like he can do more for your treatment. In addition, when you have an appointment, do not expect to be seen at that time.

Office staff very rude and unprofessional. Dr Mekkawy pleasant enough as a person but did not explain the medical problem to me and provided inaccurate diagnosis. Would NEVER recommend him or his obnoxious nursing staff

Extremely caring and considerate. Never feel rushed. A true professional.
