Dr. Ahsan Riaz, MD

Dr. Riaz met me 3 times during long term stays at Medical City Dallas over the course of the last 2 years. He listened to my story and watched my disease evolve and did everything he could to make sure I was taken care of physically and emotionally throughout my journey. The funny thing is that Dr. Diaz is known for being dry and inpersonable. But as he saw me for who I was and learned about my journey he became compassionate and on the third visit I just wanted to go home. He knew that so he sent me home with a game plan and prescriptions I desperately needed to get back on because I had chosen to reject the idea that my illness was getting worse. After multiple AMA s he saw that I just wanted to be able to live rather than exist and he did all he could to give me the resources i needed to do that for myself. I am not an easy case and most doctors just pity me or tell me I'm too young to have this many problems or assume i just want meds and to be high because I'm young. But he was… wise enough to see through the records and my mental illness history to see me. As a person, not just a number. I cant thank him enough for that. I hope he knows he does change lives. I'm writing this review in Hope's it will help him help other people.
