I was shocked how many syringes they brought for my child - several vaccines all at once, didn’t give any options or explanations. Probably gave her over 10 all at once. I wish I knew better and spoke up. This Dr is vaccine bonus hungry.

I have run a clinic for over 10 years and I never deceived a caller that asked for a specific service that I knew that I did not offer. I called this clinic to make an appointment for my child for her annual check-up and vaccines. She was on a delayed schedule by the advice of an osteopathic doctor due to medical reasons. I asked to do a delayed schedule and told the receptionist when making the appointment for two weeks in the future. The day before the appointment the receptionist called to confirm and to tell me that I must do vaccines or they would not see me. I said that I plan to do vaccines but wanted to speak to the doctor about which ones to do and did not want to do all of them in one appointment. The receptionist said that would be fine. At the appointment, the receptionist came in to take full payment for 8 vaccines BEFORE I had met the doctor. Again, I repeated that I did NOT want to do all vaccines at that appointment. She said that they would refund me for… any vaccines not given. This was a red flag but I was still hoping for ethical fairness. Moments later, the doctor came in with a virtual student and a nurse. She firmly informed me that a student would watch the appointment and that we would be doing all vaccines at that appointment. I told the doctor that I felt deceived by her staff when I repeatedly said that I wanted a delayed schedule. She said that I was confused by my interaction with the receptionist. I might believe that it was a misunderstanding on my part up until the last interaction I had in which I was told that I would be refunded for any vaccines not given. I don't think that I could have been confused. And due to COVID I could not have my husband at the appointment to discuss what we should do. I don't have a problem with a clinic making strict policies but that policy should be relayed to the client/patient when preparing for the appointment.
