Dr. Aikaterini Katrina Markopoulou, MD

I was referred to Dr. Markopouulou when I asked Glenbrook Hospital to recommend a neurologist for my then 77 year-old father. I was told that Dr. Markopoulou was new to the North Shore University Health system, having moved here from the Mayo Clinic, and was very well regarded.I couldn't have been more pleased. I sat in on my Dad's 90 minute neurological work-up, and it was the most comprehensive neurological exam I have seen in the 3+ years I've been tending to Dad's critical care needs. Dr. Markopoulo answered complex questions that my family had been trying to get answered since he became an hemodialysis patient over 3 years ago. Other neurologists in the past (unfortunately) have been put off by the fact that my Dad is a medicare patient. One (local) neurologist's "comprehensive" work-up lasted less than 10 minutes! For Dr. Markopoulou, this was obviously and thankfully not a consideration.Those close to me know that I am anything but fulsome in my praise of doctors, generally… (I've encountered SO MANY in the past 3 years). Dr. Markopoulou gets an A+.
